just watching now - what happened to Ed?! He's one of the Juniors right?

Lilka · 19/01/2013 01:02

Getting demoted and made to repeat a years training is bad enough, but now it gets broadcast to the entire nation.... I mean, if he needs to repeat the training, then that has to happen, but I really feel for him

They don't seem a very animated bunch so far. I can't remember the names and can't work out how I feel about them either

never mind poor ed. poor patients if he was allowed to try out his skills on them! the lass who moans about taking her bloods to the lab really got on my nerves too. don't get me started on that sho who said there is always a treatment for cancer. she meant curative or palliative but I'm betting the family will only have thought she meant curative. not a great idea

ahh watched it to the end - last year's bunch are a hard act to follow

Bilbobagginstummy · 19/01/2013 10:44

So is Ed Italian (in which case his English is amazing), or did he just train in Italy? V confused.

They've obviously not made them all live together this year. Plus there are only 7 - wonder why.

I love junior doctors. I liked the very capable one who got to go into theatre but the one with the squinty eyes and thick fringe irritated me. Ed was hopeless and will definitely benefit from repeating his first year in the UK.

HolidayArmadillo · 19/01/2013 10:48

Oh and nice to see them include a junior doctor with a child.

Just watched on iplayer. I know Ed has trained and worked in another country but it's not too much to expect him to know his anatomy (couldn't name the menisci) or to do a neurological exam. He just didn't seem to have a clue. I think they could tell very quickly that he would be a hazard and that he is lacking basic knowledge. I'm not a medic and think I'd have more idea of what a neurolical exam might consist of just watching ER, casualty and having done a St John's first aid course! He was scary!

The girl who went into watch the surgery seemed a mega-achiever. Scary in the opposite way to Ed, as she is uber confident.

Really enjoyed the prog and admire their dedication and attitude.

Watching now - RLUH doesn't seem to have changed much since I went to Uni in the 90s!

I saw quite a few of last years series, one even was on the rounds when I was examined by his boss.
