Very depressing, but then surely you would have a plan B?

I think what depressed me so much was not so much the bad situations the people were in, but just how little defeated and demotivated they were.

Who in all honesty would think that 1 person could keep a 10 bedroom place going? Or think that somehow renting out scooters will provide an adequate income ...

The care packages really got me ... Couldn't they grow their own

and maybe try and imporve their french
they def had enough land to grow plenty of veg

I did feel sorry for the couple who invested in Florida, seems like they did all their homework and then someone ripped then off!

It shocks me that people will move to another country without learning the language. How do they sort out even basic things like banking, bills and health care with only a basic grasp of the language? At least they were trying there best though and attempting to earn money. I couldn't understand why the couple in Spain had bought a ten bed house and I felt sorry for the wife. It must be hard to keep on top of it all as well as look after an ill husband and an have an elderly mother at home. The Florida couple where obviously very naive. Would you really put everything you have in to a new business venture at that age. I can't believe that in a country like America bar staff earn $2.78. That is ridiculous.
