..In case it's rubbish.

It's one of my favourite Stephen King books and it's on tonight. I didn't know it'd been made into a film. Anyone know what it's like?

Some SK books have been awful on film, some better. I'll feel so Hmm if they've messed it up.

it's so boring i've lost interest.

audrey rose is genuinely scary, sad too, was on tcm not long back

DrRanj · 29/12/2012 22:30

This is getting silly now.

Darkesteyes · 29/12/2012 22:37

The character of Sara Tidwell was singing Brahms Lullaby. When i was a toddler and my DB was a baby he had a blue teddy bear that played BL. I cried every time i heard it because i thought it sounded incredibly sad. Still do. I think my parents thought i was just being a silly child.

I like Melissa George she looks exactly the same as she did on home and away years back

Bag of Bones - Crock of shite.

Well, judging by the critics, don't think I'll bother to watch my recording of it tonight. No wonder I didn't remember it all, as probably got fed up and watched something else instead.
When I was a teenager I was an avid fan of the Dracula films as they did terrify me, but had to watch.
The book of Damian was also better than the film.

What a(nother) missed opportunity to make a brilliant film out of a brilliant SK book.

Yes, the basic story was there but absolutely none of the terror or menace of the book. Quite an achievement to make such a pudding of it given the book was so good. How do they do it?!Hmm.

It looked like one of those bland made straight for tv jobbies. Awful.

Most S K adaptations are Shit it has to be said. Such a shame really. There was a really good one a few years back now, called something like The storm of the century. Now that was a very good mini series!

redlac · 30/12/2012 16:56

Storm of the Century was ace

wintera · 30/12/2012 17:04

It was wasn't it? My hubby and I are big s k fans and we thought that was particularly good. The Frank Darabont ones have been the best ones, like Shawshank and green mile etc . .

thenightsky · 30/12/2012 19:10

Hmm... I recorded it last night, but think I'll maybe just delete it after seeing MN reviews.

redlac · 30/12/2012 19:21

There should be a law that only Frank Darabont is allowed to adapt SK books to films/miniseries!

I do love Stand By Me the most I think

redlac · 30/12/2012 19:21

(Although I don't know if Darabont did Stand By Me)

wintera · 30/12/2012 19:35

I think it was Rob Reiner who did Stand by me, I think . . . .
