Kung Fu Panda for a 4yo?

I just asked DH to record Kung Fu Panda for DD1(4) to watch, but he doesn't want to as he doesn't think it's suitable. I've only seen a few minutes of it before, but thought it would be ok - am I very wrong?

DS 4 likes it.

Trying hard to think what may be unsuitable in it.

I remember my (then) 4yo watching it and liking the characters, I'm sure the story line wasn't registering though. I haven't seen it myself but why don't you record it anyway and watch it first before you decide.

I record all kinds of stuff I think the DCs might like, if its not to their taste or whatever I just delete it, no biggie, I wouldn't dream of even mentioning to my DH what I record and tbh I can't imagine he'd be interested anyway.

My 4 year old likes it.

My four year old loves it. Just sit with them for some of the fighting scenes to check they are ok but DS didn't even flinch

I watched this with my dn (4) a few weeks ago, its fab.

What does your dh think is wrong with it?

naughtycloud1 · 24/12/2012 12:31

like the film it,s funny if it was coraline id be worried.

bessie26 · 24/12/2012 13:08

He's only half-watched it last year & he thought it had too much fighting in - I think he's worried she will try out the Kung Fu moves on DD2(1.5)!!

My dn(4) has never tried to do kung fu. In my opinion it is a great film about acceptance.

bluebiscuit · 24/12/2012 17:47

It's fine. My kids first saw it when they were 3 and 5. They both enjoyed it.

bessie26 · 24/12/2012 22:41

Excellent! Great to hear all your DC enjoyed it. We recorded it in the end so we could watch it, so we'll probably show it to her after we've enjoyed vetted it Xmas Grin

I love this film, so does DD 5, it's about acceptance and better still there are no stereotypes. A winner in my house.
