I think we might be slightly.more.open/aware of ssexual abuse signs these days. Tbete certainly is a whole lot more information available. Back then it was a far less comfortable time for many not all.

I have had the thought that Savile could have even.murdered a child.

:( I did not know that gora. I can't look at him. I really loved his show and thought he was a fun presenter. I used to love his sayings etc. A part of my childhood now is ruined but nothing to his victims. I wish scientists could erase memories because they can take over the whole of our lives in a negative way.

I think that's why the Savile thing has been so earth shattering. Not just the scale of it (although that alone is bad enough), but that part of our popular history is now so badly tarnished by this horrible, awful man. Jim'll Fix It was a massive show, when there were only 3 TV channels; there was little else to watch on a Saturday evening. How many of us wrote in? I know I did (asking to ride my 12.2hh pony around the Grand National course ).

It is such a big deal what happened. You would like to think that it couldn't happen now, but it can and it does (Rochdale for example). Predatory, evil people manipulate themselves into positions where they have easy access to young, vulnerable children.

Please God can we as a society learn from this and protect children. Learn to listen to them and to believe them.
