I've got sorted with another insurer and should be receiving a free Meerkat through the post

I was very excited to receive my Meerkat. You get updates of it's progress via e-mail. It's takes bloodyages to get from Meerkovo Slough and despite arriving ina plainbrown box, the postie knew what it was!

My DD has been snooping over my shoulder at my internet useage and has already bagged the Meerkat. I can see myself having to scour fleabay to appease the DSs.

(OMG, just seen the prices of Meerkats on Fleabay. Nope, the DSs won't be getting one).

We got 'Sergei'-sadly,he was out of the box and tucked up with dd1's hedgehog collection(not real ones)before I realised the re-sale value. Maybe the next one...

Oh, he's going for upwards of £20 on e-bay, but like you say only if boxed. Someone is selling a full set of Meerkat toys for £170

At the christmas fair,there was a soft toy of Ned from the Koala brothers(cbeebies) on the tombola. Whoever donated that clearly doesn't know
KB merchandise was very limited and like hens teeth. I didn't win him

I love a tombola. Just the word makes me smile.

And the 6 sided wooden box cranked by a handle before you could pick a ticket out. Ah, the memories.

Nowadays you just stick your hand into a plastic bowl. It ain't the same.

Dd2does all her Xmas shopping on tombolas. Interesting presents and you can usually tell if you were last one thought of :(

Her step mum was bottom of the list this year. She appears to be getting a jar opener. I have warnedxh so he can steer her towards an extra present. I got in quick when she won a chocolate orange and staked my claim

I'm trying to work out if Christmas shopping by tombola is a step up or a step down from shopping at the pound shop? I think I prefer the random excitement of the tombola. It would be perfect for a secret santa present.

Oh and you should have kept schtum about the jar opener. I would have loved to have seen the SM's reaction!
