I am - ugh this woman!

INeedThatForkOff · 08/11/2012 19:43

'I just want my child to be happy' ... So she does hours of Kumon homework every week Hmm

Why not spend that time playing, drawing, cooking, singing with your 3 year old instead?!

UntamedShrew · 08/11/2012 19:43

Not really sure why we need to see the faked shots of the tutor in bed and brushing her teeth?!

INeedThatForkOff · 08/11/2012 19:44

Relies heavily on NH data Grin

InNeedOfBrandy · 08/11/2012 19:45

I was Hmm at the net mums survey Grin

the teeth brushing and bed shot was weird and whats wrong with her silver eyeshadow and caterpillar hd brows.

For those reasons alone I wouldn't let her near my DC!
Nice to have the head offer a voice of reason I guess.

UntamedShrew · 08/11/2012 19:47

Tiger Mother - bingo!

InNeedOfBrandy · 08/11/2012 19:50

Aww I feel bad for that little boy, he doesn't have or want friends thanks to her. Social aspect is a really important aspect of education.

Intelligence before friends ... that boy is quoting from a very troubling script.

InNeedOfBrandy · 08/11/2012 19:51

I agree with the head I hope they do coach proof the grammer school exams.

The Finnish schooling is really interesting.

A teacher friend of mine was saying the other day that they were... Putting in questions that only children with real nous would get.

I hope so... I don't think 11+ schools will be an option for DS/DD but I don't want to get caught up in any of this shite if it turns out they are.

UntamedShrew · 08/11/2012 19:55

Why wold you want to do a gcse so early? What is the advantage? Surely th grade counts, not when you sat it. Poor kids, they are missing out on so much.

EugenesAxe · 08/11/2012 19:55

Have no idea if that's how you spell nous, topically.

InNeedOfBrandy · 08/11/2012 20:03

They really are, the sad thing is those parents do care about their dc and don't see the damage they're doing by not letting them have a childhood. Sad

That poor little boy who put intelligence before friends. :( there is such a thing as emotional intelligence which he just won't develop.

I agree why would you want to do exams so early?! I'm a teacher and want to facilitate well rounded and happy useful citizens not academic automatons.

Don't these people realise that chuildren are constantly learning not just when they are being taught english and maths!!

simpson · 08/11/2012 20:22

25 hours of extra work a week Shock

That poor child!!!

I am all for supporting and taking an interest in your child's education but this is madness!!!

simpson · 08/11/2012 20:23

Yes , when he said that intelligent people just find friends (or words to that effect) I just thought he is in for a sad lesson...
