DH and I LOVE this. Is scarily brilliantly accurate. Watched the first episode whilst expressing last year, now can watch the second series with wine and fingers crossed sleeping babies and it's even better.

No-one else?

we love it too. can't decide who is my favorite character, love them all!

TwelveLeggedWalk · 23/10/2012 16:22

I love the Kingsley-Josie relationship. My favourite episode was the one when Jp's Dad & Oregon's horse died though, really sweet and moving and funny all at the same time.

I love Fresh Meat! I've always been a big Jack Whitehall fan anyway, I'm so glad they made a second series. :)

Although I'm not keen on the new Heather character, I love Sabine.

Last weeks episode though

TunipTheVegemal · 23/10/2012 16:25

Love, love, love it. The academics are scarily accurate too (except that Professor Shales would get into trouble for his relationship with Oregon).
I like Oregon best. Specially the moment in the last series where we found out she was really called Melissa.

pictish · 23/10/2012 16:26

Yes...we love it!!! Grin

TwelveLeggedWalk · 23/10/2012 16:31

Yay! A slightly scuzzy studenty home for FM fans, pass us a glass of schnoco.

I love them all so much I can't pick a favourite.
Professor Shales is hilarious, and big up to Tony Gardner for portraying this pathetic, feeble, abusive wanker so very well indeed. The dynamic between desperate Professor Shales and the growing-wiser Oregon, is a joy to watch!

TwelveLeggedWalk · 23/10/2012 16:38

I definitely remember tutors, whilst not quite that pathetic, preying on pretty girls like that. Meant the non-pretty girls like me got a rather crap teaching experience too. Love the academic rivalry with his wife too, that's so accurate!

Have you had anything to eat Pictish? Would you like a bowl of munge?

TunipTheVegemal · 23/10/2012 16:39

I liked Robert Webb as Dan Dan the Geology Man.

TwelveLeggedWalk · 23/10/2012 16:40

Is that cheesy munge, or just munge?

We also loved JP coming to terms with his friend Giles being gay.
The little monologue he had with himself after Giles pointed out he felt the same about JP as JP felt about Oregon, was wonderful!

"I don't want to bum him and he doesn't want to bum me"

I know JP is shallow, sexist, annoying, immature, selfish twat, but I love him anyway. Grin

TunipTheVegemal · 23/10/2012 16:42

Don't eat the munge everyone, someone's been sick in it.

TunipTheVegemal · 23/10/2012 16:43

Poor JP though. That episode last series where his Flashman-like 'friends' from school kept asking him for more Ks.

pictish · 23/10/2012 16:44

Oh oh oh and I adore how Josie is sweetness and light to the naked eye, but harbours a soul riddled with dishonesty, selfishness, and cold indifference. Grin

pictish · 23/10/2012 16:47

And how Vod is the same but the other way round!

ViviPru · 23/10/2012 17:50

Yes that's so it about Josie, pictish. She's playing it even better this series.

I think Sabine has great potential as a foil.

Everyone knew a Howard at uni. It's just all so utterly, spookily familiar.

The actresses who play Vod and Oregon were on Nemone's 6Music show at the weekend, worth a listen on the iPlayer.

nipersvest · 23/10/2012 19:06

tunip, i'm not so sure that part is inaccurate!, dh works in a uni and says one particular course has a reputation of the lecturers playing 'f* a fresher'.

jp is a total twat but likeable at the same time. last series, when he started crying in the shower over his dad Sad

UltraBOF · 23/10/2012 19:09

I love this too. At first I was hoping they'd get rid of Sabine, but I've really warmed to her.

AmIthatScary · 23/10/2012 19:10

I'm a fan of Greg "Garreh" McHugh and I believe he is in it. So, I must try and catch up with it.

It sounds like it might be right up my street Grin

noodleone · 23/10/2012 19:12

The word meatabix made me snort with laughter.

I love it! Utterly brilliant.

TunipTheVegemal · 23/10/2012 21:38

Shock Nipersvest.

DH works in a uni and swears that bit is unrealistic Hmm

UltraBOF · 23/10/2012 22:17

This is a cracking episode so far Grin
