Is anyone going to watch ?

I grew up round those parts and I am looking forward to seeing how they show it on tv .

Has got good reviews and sounds like a royle family for the north east .

Watched it, loved it!

out2lunch · 18/10/2012 22:36

sorry
didn't like it
wannabe royle family and gavin and stacey but not as funny

SavoyCabbage · 18/10/2012 22:39

is it a drama or a documentary? Hope it's on iplayer. It will make a change from watching Auf Wiedersehen Pet over and over.

ItsMeYourCathy · 18/10/2012 22:39

I loved it and I know the actress who plays Sarah

travellingwilbury · 18/10/2012 22:41

Comedy drama and I for one think its worth a look .

It is a bit royle family meets gavin and stacey but I don't really see that as a bad thing .

Liking it so far.

Never been to north east so dont know if this is really what its like but Im assuming it's way over the top as all these type of programmes are. And all the better for it too.

i live the other side of the water to hebburn, brilliant, very funny i thought. I liked the fact that the 'new girlfriend' being a jew would get 'extra points' by resting her tea cup on the pope's face, also thought the bagel bit was good

NiceBiscuits · 18/10/2012 22:46

I enjoyed it. I liked the story line more than the jokes.

lighthousekeeping · 18/10/2012 22:47

My Geordie friends love it. I like it. Better than that Friday Night Dinner.

travellingwilbury · 18/10/2012 22:48

I loved it when he first came in and all the women made that big loud long eeeeee squeally noise . Took me back it did .

This was great - not QUITE as funny as I'd hoped but has loads of potential :)

NotQuitePerfect · 23/10/2012 08:49

Laughed out loud. Vic Reeves brilliant and loved the Jewish daughter-in-law (can't think what else she's been in?). Also hubby & I adore Gina McKee who is gorgeous in everything.

lighthousekeeping · 25/10/2012 22:36

I don't know about it now. It's alright but, I'm rubbish with these kind f regional comedies. It just feels like its been done before.

FoJo · 25/10/2012 22:51

i thought tonights was another great episode. The drinking game in the old peoples home and the son asking 'can we hear the specials' in the pub and the singer bursting into song!

FloydieDoydie · 26/10/2012 04:30

I love this - pissed myself laughing at the sister "I thought you were Mr Goodie-Two-Shoes. Turns out you're Mr Shitey-One-Sandal"

Can't wait for the next one Smile

Pancakeflipper · 21/11/2013 17:56

I know this is an oldie but there's a new series and its brilliant.

I actually laughed out loud (twice).

Love Gina McKee. And obviously love Chris Ramsay.
