And so it continues.......

OP posts:
suburbandream · 22/10/2012 11:09

Oh and didn't he have a week off last year? I'm sure he was away for some reason last season.

2rebecca · 22/10/2012 11:50

Claudia's OTT eye make up and dodgy fringe make her look in halloween costume already. I don't like any of the presenters.

TheSilverPussycat · 22/10/2012 11:54

I thought Brucie was fairly on the ball this week, some bits of unscripted banter which he responded well to.

This is only my second season, I seem to have a dancing crush on Anton, am dyspraxic but would like him to teach me the quick step!

tkband3 · 22/10/2012 15:46

Brucie had one week off last year when he had flu - Ronnie Corbett stood in for him with Tess Hmm.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 22/10/2012 15:56

God, I'd forgotten about Corbett! Or successfully wiped it from my mind. Until now. Thanks a bunch, tbkand3. Grin

2rebecca · 22/10/2012 17:08

What is it with the BBC and old men?
We need more female presenters, apart from the young pretty ones we need a few middle aged average looking ones. I'd quite like to see Jo Brand presenting strictly, or Rona Cameron she's not been on anything I've seen recently.

tkband3 · 22/10/2012 17:22

Sorry about that LadyClarice - the image of him tripping down the stairs and doing the leg up thing with Tess is indelibly printed on my brain, so I thought I'd share Grin. Remember the lovely tartan suit? Smile

So who would we rather have, Brucie or Ronnie?! At least Ronnie can't make jokes about small people...

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 22/10/2012 17:36

Again, I hadn't remembered the tartan suit ...

but now I can't forget it, you caaaaaaah. Grin

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2012 19:57

Sue Perkins as SCD presenter! Now that would be goodGrin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 22/10/2012 19:59

Oh YES! Actually, Mel and Sue together would be even better. Wonder if they get on with Claudia? The three of them could be a riot.

Biscuitsandtea · 23/10/2012 06:30

That is a FAB-U-LOUS idea Grin

I do hope the BBC bosses read this thread (although I doubt it since they are still plugging away with Brucie).

Whoever it was that said they'd like to see the back of Brucie, the first time I read it I thought 'what, doesn't he ever turn round? I wonder if I've ever seen the back of him?' BlushConfused. What a dope! I blame the sleep deprivation currently being inflicted on me by my 7 month old.....

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2012 07:05

Not sure about Miranda Hart presenting but if you could get her in on it too that would be great. She's a huge fan as is Marian Keyes who is also fab. Grin

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 23/10/2012 07:09

Oooh yes - good idea. They can have ITT of Claudia won't do it. Zoe is fine but I think Miranda and Marian would be fab Smile

TheHumancatapult · 23/10/2012 07:58

Tk considering all the JS stuff and that corbetts son been charged with indecent pictures of minors be supposed if they used Ronnie again on strictly

knottyhair · 23/10/2012 08:07

It was Ronnie Barker's son, not Ronnie Corbett's TheHuman. Just didn't want the wrong Ronnie's name getting tarnished!

2rebecca · 23/10/2012 08:42

I find Miranda Hart's "gosh aren't I ditzy"ness a bit tiresome. It was OK the first couple of times I saw her. Maybe we don't need a "celebrity" to present the show but someone who will just get on with it without wanting to take up time to feed their own ego by grabbing some of the limelight.

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2012 08:55

2becca the problem is that they are mostlu all egoists or they wouldn't be in the BIZ would they? I like Lisa Tarbuck or Darcey I LOVE her Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 23/10/2012 09:15

I don't like Miranda [heretic]. I agree about the 'Gosh, I'm so dizzy' schtick; it is very obviously a schtick, or at least comes across like that, not genuine.

Marian Keyes though is fab and probably genuinely a bit nuts, and would be excellent company for tea and a blether.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2012 10:30

We need a very capable presenter who isn't a presenter then. Nope it will have to be Sue Perkins. She would be fab.

Is there a little job for Gareth Malone? I love him.

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 23/10/2012 10:34

Gareth could do behind the scenes, perhaps?

Then again, Claudia is very good at that. She seems to get on with all the dancers and slebs and bring out the best in them.

Maybe Gareth could roam the audience and ask who's their favourite etc.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2012 10:45

I am trying to work out whether Gareth could present but I don't think he could. Sad He could do Tess's bit no problem but then so could Sparkling Cat.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 23/10/2012 11:52

I LIKE Miranda it's not an act (inside knowledge Wink) She's very sweet.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2012 11:54

She's on This Morning in a minute.

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 23/10/2012 11:55

Well, OK, I'll accept it's not an act. I'm afraid she still annoys me though.

ppeatfruit · 23/10/2012 13:09

IKWYM Lady I first heard her on the radio and it wasn't brilliant since seeing her show (her humour is very visual IMO) and in Call the Midwife I've got a lot more of respect for her acting skills. I also like the fact that she's not the usual blonde dyed, skinny, big tits type that there are too many of on the telly.Grin
