Saw it on i-player this morning.
Utter waste of excellent actors. Grindingly annoying. Anyone?

I agree the actors struggled with a dreadful script. I spent my time thinking how bad their haircuts were. My DH stopped watching after a few minutes.

Sparklingbrook · 13/10/2012 11:23

I didn't see it all but it looked a bit cringey. It reminded me a bit of one from ages ago. Ade Edmonson was the Dad and he lived in a cupboard under the stairs.

It looked a bit Hmm to me.

LadyBeagleEyes · 13/10/2012 11:24

I was wondering if anyone was going to start a thread about this.
I sat watching this cringing.
Surely the worst comedy to come out of the BBC in years.
It was absolutely awful.

ComeIntoTheSpookyGardenMaud · 13/10/2012 11:28

In the words of the song, things can only get better. It dies have some very good actors in it and Neil Morrissey and there was a certain amount of truth in the scene with the Joules-clad mummy at the school gate.

PanonOlympus · 13/10/2012 11:35

If the bloke with the landrover was cool/brave enough to write his number on her arm in the playground then he would have enough about him to not sit there on a date and purely admire her teeth. And the kiss on the doorstep...oh lordy.

Mrs Jones portrayed as landing on one catastrophe after another....

Would the cool Swedish woman really let wanker dad into her life?

Was half expecting Martin Clunes to turn up and suggest to dad " Lets do down the pub mate"...ever so slightly lazy character type casting.

Not watched it yet but am pretty gutted at these comments. Was looking forward to it too! I like Robert Sheehan, Misfits just wasn't the same after he left!

wintera · 13/10/2012 20:13

Just watched it - you were all right, it was rubbish. So disappointing. I agree it was a waste of good actors but I am annoyed they agreed to be in it in the first place! Surely they read the script?!

LadyBeagleEyes · 13/10/2012 20:19

I thought that too, wintera.
I like all the leading actors.
But this was so bad it was embarrassing, what were they thinking about?

lightrain · 13/10/2012 20:22

I thought it was okay. Easy watching for a Friday night - I don't want anything I have to think about and it was mildly amusing. Much better than the previous offering of 'home with the Flynns' or whatever it was called.

trockodile · 13/10/2012 20:35

I thought Robert Sheehan did a fairly good job tbh-I felt a bit wrong for thinking it, but definitely could see him as the obvious one for the mum to choose-he was adorable! And I love Jonathon Bailey from Campus anyway and thought he was pretty good.
Everyone else was a bit meh!

wintera · 13/10/2012 20:51

Robert Sheehan was definitely the best thing about it. I pretty much love him. Still gutted he left misfits though. It just wasn't the same after he left. I loved Nathan!

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 13/10/2012 22:05

Robert Sheehan is my new crush after that! It was worth watching just to see him in just a towel.

trockodile · 19/10/2012 22:29

Wasn't much better tonight-but Robert Sheehan is still so lovely, that it is worth watching for him alone! And Jonny Bailey is adorable!
Others-especially Neil Morrisey and guy who plays Tom were pretty embarrassingly bad-I mean lets face it, there would be no competition at all!

snozzlemaid · 19/10/2012 22:34

I was just going to say the same thing trockodile. It's definitely worth watching just for Robert Sheehan.
Think I have a new crush.

Haven't watched yet 1st episode from last week

Very disappointed by comments :(

Is it worth me spending next hour to watch both episodes??

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2012 00:22

Just finished first episode and have to say I actually really enjoyed this show

A simple comedy but quite funny - and the koalas shagging totally made me pmsl Grin

Will watch no 2 tomorrow - well later today as almost 12.30am

greenhill · 20/10/2012 20:46

I thought the second episode was better than the first. I'll try it again next week too.

Wetthemogwai · 20/10/2012 20:52

Ow I liked it :) rings fairly true with my life and the boys are lush

bacon · 20/10/2012 22:40

Utter crud, Sarah??? "Coupling" - a billiant comedy, this is over scripted - awful not to be repeated.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/10/2012 18:26
