I am a bit that they've gone back to it tbh - I tend to think such classics should be left alone - but there's no way I wouldn't give it a chance!

I thought it was much better than I expected. The last series was a bit old and worn out, but I thought this one felt fresh and had gone back to the original series. I still think the cat has the best lines.

Yes...one of my students at school also pointed out that they have gone back to filming in front of a live audience, which they didn't do for those Christmas specials.

I gave up on the later series but I'll give this one a go.

Can't believe no one's commented on Kryten's appearance. I mean, what the actual fuck - did they forget how to do it? Ditto Cat's hair.

And they're so old! Net Danny John Jules a few years ago and he still looked really young. Seems to have aged quite a lot in 3 years.

It just seemed - forced somehow. trying to be funny rather than it just being funny, iyswim.

I really really really did want to like it.

We loved it. Were roaring with laughter. Thought it was really back on form.

I'm looking forward to next week. They look older so I'm guessing there will be less action adventure and more comedy which is what they do best

Only just seen this, love Red Dwarf (as you can tell from the name!)
I thought the last few series were complete rubbish, but actually really enjoyed this one, it's funny again!
Can't re-create the magic of series 4 and 5 when it was at its peak, but it's definitely worth watching again.
