I mean I'm presuming Roses Dr would keep on ageing so perhaps he grows into JH.

Also I'm pretty sure we don't see DT running around. Is 8 Joe whats his face? No, don't remember seeing him either

Oh I'm so pissed off at how far away November is! I loved the bit with river. Will have to watch again but it explained Clara's story well. Feeling all emotional about river. Really enjoyed it.

Me and DH are assuming John Hurt is an extra Doctor we didn't know about between the dodgy Paul McGann one and Chris Eccleston, and that he's responsible for all the naughty time war stuff that wasn't really in the spirit of the "Doctor". Loved the ep. Steven Moffat is ace. I miss River already Sad

I cried at River too :( Loved the fact the others couldn't see River though and the looks on their faces!
Moffat was talking of leaving so maybe he's tying up loose ends there?

Loved Starks 'I didn't know either' at River being a woman and all the references to boy/girl/large head etc
Oh and him going fighting in Glasgow on his weekend off!

Wanted to see more of the whisper men.

Like the John Hurt as the time war doctor idea. Dd1 shouted 'its the dragon' when he spoke Grin

Lady, that's what I think too. The war is only really referenced by ecclestone, not earlier, so it must have happened between Mcgann and ecclestone.

loved roger Delgado and eric Roberts as the master, john simms, as lovely as he is, was too twee as the master, and too 'Im from the david Tennant school of acting'.

Moon in the reboot, The Doctor's worst nightmare always seems to be himself, which is not surprising after the events of the Time War (c/r The God Complex).

Okaaaay, been thinking about this a little too much and this is no my theory...
I think John Hurt is the first Doctor (except he wasn't called the Doctor then) and William Hartnell was the first regeneration. Something must have happened to make him steal the TARDIS and leave Gallifrey forever, I reckon he did something really bad and then took the name Doctor so that he could somehow atone for it by helping others, whilst burying his former self firmly in the past.

Of course if everybody except me already knows why he left Gallifrey in the TARDIS then my theory goes completely out of the window Grin.

I don't know why he left but I am pretty certain he returned in the form of Tom Baker..so he hadn't done anything too bad at that point.

Sorry, I think in my head...the terrible thing John Hurt did is linked to the wiping out of the timelords and so I can't see this as happening at the beginning. It has to be between Paul MCgann and Ecclestone.

But if I am wrong about that then it does allow for John Hurt being at the beginning.

So much time until November for speculation!!

Didnt the Timelords banish Jon Pertwee to punish him for something bad he did too? Surely if he had done something that bad before he was Hartnell, he would have been punished for that too? Also, it's only the recent ones, from what I remember who have a complex about how bad they are- DT when Davros called him the destroyer of worlds etc? I do think he's a missing Doctor. They also seem to reference MS as the 11th Doctor a lot more, so it may be significant i.e: He's not the 11th Doctor?

I really hope Clara is something to do with River. He's been living with her ghost all that time because he couldnt bear to let her go, and if he has just had to, it would be nice if Clara was a little legacy Smile although there has been a bit too much flirting for her to be his daughter...
