Its a strange one. The dilema is just like something posted in chat about sending their child off to live with their dad afew days ago.
Im finding it quite compelling!

Trickier than last week.

sailorsgal · 20/09/2012 21:26

Yes very tricky indeed.

Couldn't her mother go to Devon too.

BassaiDai · 20/09/2012 21:28

My thought exactly sailorsgal, why doesn't she move and set up in Devon. That surely would be the best for her daughter. A better environment and both parents in a close proximity. Bet there is more to this than meets the eye. Hmm

UnrequitedSkink · 20/09/2012 21:43

if the mother thinks devon is so great why not move there together?

and the mothers never even been there?!

im not sure this is even real

expatinscotland · 20/09/2012 21:46

She might not have the money to move.

BassaiDai · 20/09/2012 21:46

Good shout skink, but shouldn't they be handing round biscuits popcorn wine and flowers? Smile

lighthousekeeping · 20/09/2012 21:46

Im on a delay I think. Devon looks amazing and I love Orville and Charlotte. I agree, why doesnt her mother move with her?

W&yo, that's why I think there is more to this than meets the eye.

chocolateshoes · 20/09/2012 21:49

ah....am glad I've found this - thought I was the only one watching

BassaiDai · 20/09/2012 21:49

Expat, nothing indicates she has no money. Her clothes/image are clearly a financial priority.

chocolateshoes · 20/09/2012 21:50

I guess the Mum works so can't move....am surprised no one in the audience has suggested it though

whiteandyelloworchid · 20/09/2012 21:53

if shes in council housing couldnt she get an exchange, i imagine theres alot of people after london houses/flats
or the dad could help with costs

sailorsgal · 20/09/2012 21:57

her dd is a credit to her, so lovely.

lighthousekeeping · 20/09/2012 21:57

I love the diversity of the group. Typical of London. Its a difficult one. Having said that, I work with a lot of mums who have done just this. Sent their children back to their home countries to be educated or left them there until they have created a home over here in London. Its not that unusual in some cultures. At the end of the day, it must be heartbreaking. She's a gprgeous little girl.
