So excited that this year I will be watching Strictly. Gutted to miss it last year, for the first time since series began.

Can you recommend me any fab series, one offs, documentaries, dramas I should also check out?

Many thanks.

Is that because the rules of the internet have changed, or because you have done something clever? If the latter, then what?!?

janek · 15/09/2012 15:52

Btw homeland was good. And i enjoyed the killing, although would have found it. Much less enjoyable if i hadn't found out whodunnit at the end of the second series (american version i am talking about).

Revenge on 4OD - good old fashioned Dallas-esque trash!

VivaLeBeaver · 15/09/2012 16:07

Miranda is quite funny

DanyTargaryen · 15/09/2012 16:08

Misfits is actually quite good, but v sweary and can get quite violent so if you not into that I'd give it a miss.

DanyTargaryen · 15/09/2012 16:08

and thats on 40d sorry

Napdamnyou · 15/09/2012 16:38

Got misfits on borrowed box set. Is hysterical. Can only watch stuff online using VPN which gives uk ip - ie 4OD and iplayer not more4. Does 4od keep things up for longer than BBC? BBC stuff seems to be up for a week only.

Thank you for recommends so far.

Oooo, gonna look at that. Really miss bits and pieces from the Uk.
Cheers for the tip x

MrsShrek3 · 17/09/2012 05:35

Current faves here are the Thick of It, Strictly, Midwives, I watched the last series of Downton Abbey - a new series started last night which I didn't see... and interesting for those who like baking TGBBO Grin

janek · 18/09/2012 12:55

Turns out new girl is also on ch 4, so you may be able to get it after all. If you're interested!

berri · 20/09/2012 20:00

Expat with my private network here too - it's great isn't it! Hands down the best £5 a month I spend Wink

Currently watching downton abbey & dragons den...loads of documentaries on 4od and 5 on demand if you like those too.

BBC also have loads of films on there. Have watched a few itv dramas but nothing worth shouting about.

Would also appreciate any recommendations of things to catch up on!

Virgil · 20/09/2012 20:05

Bbc stuff is on for ages. They have the most up to date stuff on the front page but then if you search using the box on the right there is much more

NulliusInBlurba · 20/09/2012 20:23

I lurve my VPN. On 4od I mostly watch documentaries - I've got Thelma's gypsy girls on right now, which is curiously compulsive. I also like OBEM and there's a short series now about the 999 service which makes me glad I don't live in Blackpool.

On BBC there's the perennial Casualty and Holby City, and series like Silent Witness. I find it annoying how quickly a lot of the current series disappear, though (and can't be found in the archive). 4od is a lot better in that respect. I only discovered OBEM during series 3, but the first 2 series were still available.

I haven't started with this series of Thick of It yet - I hope it's all still available.

ATourchOfInsanity · 20/09/2012 20:59

I would say on iPlayer:
Who do you think you are
Parade's End - A MUST SEE SERIES!

& on C4:
New Girl (silly but funny)
Misfits (as above)

BertieBotts · 20/09/2012 22:12

999 what's my emergency on 4od which looks to be near the standard of OBEM, obviously a slightly different focus.

BBC is easier to look around I think. Doctor Who a bit rubbish so far this series :(
