Why is the vic shut

Does anyone know why the vic is shut and what is Kat looking for?

Shirley (who is now homeless) stayed there and they all caught bedbugs, so Alfie has got a company in to get rid of them.

Kat is looking for a bandage her mystery lover sent her with the words "I love you" on.

Why is Kat not allowed to stay but alfie is?

Someone had to stay to be 'bait' or something equally mental!!!
