Anyone know when series 2 will start??

Just been on Sky Atlantic website and found out that Jack Hayes (?? funny bloke from Will and Grace) and Jennifer Hudson will be in it.

Me too! I loved it & thought the last episode was great. I know Ivy was a bitch with Karen but I wanted her to be Marilyn as I thought she deserved it! Hope she hasn't taken the pills! [think I've been thinking about it too much!!]

Anyway, if you find out when season 2 is on, let me know too

I agree!!! Ivy definitely deserved to be Marilyn, especially after all the trauma of having Derek as a boyfriend!!

What I would love to know is whether Ivy and Karen actually sang their songs or were they lip-synching? The singing was fabulous.

New series is due to air in the US in early 2013 I think, so shouldn't be too far behind on Sky here. Can't wait!

Ooh, I love Smash! I actually googled the actress who plays Karen while watching it one day as I wanted to know if she could really sing and it seems she can! She was a contestant on American Idol ages ago and has released albums since.

I don't know about the actress who plays Ivy but gather she can sing too. Although they lip sync for the show but I believe it is actually a recording of their own voices.

I was always pulled between which one I wanted to be Marilyn. Ivy definitely deserved it but I'm a fan of the underdog so... Would have been happy with whoever got the part. Can't wait for series 2!!!

I watched Catherine McPhee (Karen) in American Idol - she so should have won as she was brill. She sang at Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes wedding back then too!

I think Karen may well turn into a complete bitch / diva in the next series given what Dev did & how well she did.

I'd also love Marilyn to be a real musical you could go & watch. I especially loved the last song!

Think I need to go & name change again as I'm now sounding really sad.

Another Smash devotee here, missing it too and looking forward to series 2. I downloaded the album which is fab. I believe another album is out as there are some songs missing (like the one in one of the later shows where they were all singing in a pseudo Bollywood film)

I've also ordered the DVD which is due to be released in Oct for my mum! She doesn't have Sky and I reckon she'd love it as she likes musicals and stuff like this plus I get to borrow it and watch again

Makes me wonder why this hasn't been done as a musical? Listening to some of the songs - they're so good and worthy of being a real live musical!

Do I win the award for the saddest Smash fan?!

I believe that Megan Hilty who plays Ivy is a fairly well known Broadway performer and has appeared in shows such as Wicked (playing Glinda I think).

She was runner up to Taylor Hicks but sooo much better than him!

It's a no to Jack for me.

I'm sure Ivy must be a Broadway star as she was so good (& should have got the lead ), so that doesn't surprise me.

Yes, I too think there should definitely be a REAL musical of Marilyn, the songs were gorgeous.
