Hi
Sorry for posting this here. It is actually a question I have posted in Geeky Stuff but I thought that Telly Addicts would be the best people to ask!

We bought a Sony Vaio L Series TV Computer 4 years ago - like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=sony+vaio+l+series&hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&qscrl=1&nord=1&rlz=1T4ACAW_enGB389GB402&biw=1069&bih=659&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=olJFiJ266GaTBM:&imgrefurl=www.techdigest.tv/cgi-bin/mt/mt-search.fcgi%3Fblog_id%3D2%26tag%3DSony%2520VAIO%2520L%2520Series%26limit%3D20&docid=3hpfOmqcSHSiyM&imgurl=www.techdigest.tv/sony-vaio-l-series.jpg&w=450&h=338&ei=F9M0UPxGx5bRBbblgPgF&zoom=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

It is now playing up and we will not be replacing it like for like as it is tricky to switch on/off, although we liked the streaming iplayer, recording tv, storing photos/music etc. We thought we would revert to a "normal" TV, but we now see that you can get "internet" TVs.

Anyone got one? Can you tell me what it is like?
First and foremost are they easy to switch on and off?

Or should we just get a normal TV and add a fancy box etc? If so which box?

There is too much choice and the tech all moves too fast. Help please!

Internet TV's are not all that but are getting better my one (SONY) has youtube iplayer and a host of other net channels. We assumed that we could surf the net but that's not the case. I hear LG has some great Smart TV's they could be worth a try too, I do know they have a very crisp picture.

Ooh thanks. Will take a look at lg.
Does your sony one have a simple power button?
Our vaio has to be started and shutdown like a pc and its a faff/time timeconsuming. It would be nice to have something quick and easy.
