Wasn't it terrific?

I cried a wee bit.

It was interesting.
I had no idea the Paralympics started that way.

IceCreamCastles · 16/08/2012 22:54

Brilliant- what a great man

Wetthemogwai · 16/08/2012 22:55

It was fab :) really fantasticy done

hugoagogo · 16/08/2012 23:00

Oh lovely Grin I thought for bit there I was the only one watching it.

Lovely young man playing William and Rob Brydon never fails to please.

Although I really enjoyed it; I think the reality of it must have been even tougher than they showed.

Was it a repeat? I'm sure my parents told me about it at the weekend, maybe that was a Channel 4 prog instead. Anyway, it's going on the iPlayer.

SoupDragon · 16/08/2012 23:04

Fabulous programme.

Limelight · 16/08/2012 23:09

Really enjoyed it.

Pantah630 · 17/08/2012 07:47

It was fabulous, heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Fantastic cast too.

debka · 17/08/2012 07:48

Yes we loved it too- the 90 mins went far too quickly.

I loved Dr Guttman, what an incredible man.

SoupDragon · 17/08/2012 07:50

Some of it was just jaw droppingly awful - what they had to go through, not the programme/acting. I liked the end where they showed footage of Paralympic games right up to present times. It showed just how far things have come.

CMOTDibbler · 17/08/2012 07:56

Brilliant programme. Its hard to remember that turning patients was a huge revelation in preventing bedsores

FelixCited · 17/08/2012 15:41

I loved it, I welled up at the end when they showed the Paralympic competitors

We loved it too. So excited we are going to multiple events in the Paralympics.

ripsishere · 20/08/2012 06:20

Me and DH watched it last night. What a fantastic piece of television. Even DD enjoyed it once she stopped seeing the hugely talented Rob Brydon as Uncle Bryn.

fussychica · 20/08/2012 12:43

Ditto all the above. Loved it.

chattynick · 21/08/2012 21:57

Sounds good! I better has see this before iplayer ditches it.

Childrenofthestones · 22/08/2012 07:14

Caught it on the iplayer 2 days back.
I thought it was one of the best things I have seen on the tellybox all year.
I thought Eddie Marsan shone as Dr Ludwig Guttmann.
Yes I blubbed once or twice. Blush

StickyFloor · 24/08/2012 19:23

I only just got round to watching this and was really blown away. I gasped and sobbed my heart out at the end when they flicked to real footage, what a great ending.

I was telling dd(8) about it today (she has CP) and she said "so, i would have been left in bed forever in those days would I?" and I just can't stop thinking about it.

slartybartfast · 27/08/2012 13:22

it was amazing. i too cried at the end, and was completely glued to my seat. highly recommended

Hownoobrooncoo · 28/08/2012 01:50
