Just read that Katya Virshilas isn't returning to the show, a new dancer Karen Hauer is taking her place.

Who will be in this year's line up?

I liked DVO until she did the Joseph show and I felt a bit embarassed for her.

I thought Darcey & Ian's dance was wonderful. She has been practising, hasn't she? :) I mean, she was always a brilliant dancer but her ballroom is now exquisite too.

Have rather a crush on Queen Victoria. Hope she CAN dance. Wish she had got Artem and Fern, Brendan, though.

MarysBeard - I agree, I think that pairing would have been much better.

SCD half virgin here - I watched half of it last year after finally seeing the light with X Factor. Going to watch all of it this year and it is matching my intense nesting/hibernating mode: I'm due on October 16, finishing (working from home on Oct 5) and it's all working out perfectly!

I'll be able to relax with the first proper episode on Oct 5 and if I go over my due date, catch a few more weeks. When I finally go into labour, I have episodes to catch up, snuggled up with new baby on the couch, eating lots of food, all cosy and nesty

Also regarding Flavia, would she be able to keep her mitts off Louis.

I don't like having an episode for the pairings then nothing for 3 weeks. They should just get on with it. We all know they've been training for weeks already.

I liked Kimberely more for her saying she had a bit of a head start. If DVO keeps up the 'I'm not much of a dancer' bollox then I'll be right off her.

I hope Victoria can dance well enough to last a few weeks at least. This is because what I really want to see is one of those training pices where the celeb is struggling with confidence so the pro wheels in someone from the celeb's professional field to help them. This would then have to be one Mark Cavendish who could then go on to prove that he is a better dancer than Brendan !!

I love SCD & watch it every year. My DS1 watched it with me last year (he loves scoring all the dances!!!) & I couldn't help roaring with laughter when he announced last night that he thought Richard Arnold "has a big face". TBH, I think he may have a point ...

flapjacks, my DS said something similar, that he had a funny face! He also loves scoring the dances, actually has a special pad & pen he uses.

I don't really mind stage school dancing and then onto soaps, or whatever. At least they have never been paid to dance. It really was pushing the boundries a bit when the pop stars started to get involved, but at least their moves are pretty limited when they sing too. To have someone like DVO though - paid professionally to dance in musicals like Chicago and Legally Blonde - plus all her hamming it up last night about outfits and make-up - exactly what every night has been like for her for umpteen years! That takes the biscuit. Even Dani Harmer was about to go on tour with Disco Inferno - before she pulled out to do SCD and the tour folded.

I think the BBC do it so they don't get a year of complete duffers. I seriously doubt someone like DVO will win because of her background. So long as some of the others can really dance and have personalities, I don;t think DVO stands a chance. She'll get far but not win.

Every year I think surely this is the year Bruce has been put out to pasture but no there he is with his tired , stilted, inane presenting . Totally inexplicable . Also am I the only one who thinks its not much short of creepy that a man in his eighties is paired up with a woman of Tess' age ?

Agree record and leave 15 minutes before watching so you can whizz through him and all that cringing

Can someone please tell me who Denise whatsit is? As far as I'm concerned, she has one of those names you catch a glimpse of on the covers of celeb magazines at the dentists, and insofar as I have ever given her a moment's thought, I thought she was one of those Katie Price/Nancy Del'Onion people famous for sleeping with someone or getting their kit off. But now it appears she has been in shows and things, and I am feeling hopelessly out of touch. Please enlighten.

Yup, I too agree about Bruce, it gets worse every year and last night was so obviously reading off his cards as if it was the first time he'd seen what they said. Awful!

I have a bit of a girl crush on Claudia so really gutted she won't be back. Other than that, I'm now used to the Bruce/Tess combo and just take it in stride. I'm not as bothered at the beginning of the series but towards the end, when you can really see the huge improvement in the dancing, I absolutely love it!

DVO. Hosted the Big Breakfast with Johnny Vaughan, and some ladette type shows. She has been in the West End and a judge on Any Dream Will Do where she met Lee Mead who got picked as Joseph.

Oh, and she did a one woman show on Broadway, and is the voiceover on TOWIE.
