did anyone see it?

MotionOfTheOcean · 14/08/2012 19:30

Yes but didnt really rate it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/08/2012 00:43

I thought "Hmmm,where's it going"?
but I wish they's shown it on Mon/Tues rather than a week apart.
I CBA watching it again, but I'll have forgotten most of it by Monday.

Though it has made me want to watch 10 Rillington Place (I've seen clips of it)

Bizarre although I did watch 30 minutes in just before the act! Hmm didn.t watch for long after that, nice to see Geraldine James.

Clawdy · 15/08/2012 22:49

She's good, but odd casting...in the book the landlady is in her eighties, and Geraldine James is 62.

rezzle · 15/08/2012 23:14

I did, but not sure if I'll watch it again next week because I'm a wimp. I really found it quite scary Blush

CrikeyOHare · 16/08/2012 00:31

@Clawdy - Yes, I thought that. She's far too young.

I watched it because I've read and enjoyed the book, but it has the same problem all Ruth Rendell adaptations have. They just don't translate well onto screen because you don't have access to the characters thoughts which is what RR excels at.

So, it's a bit "meh" really.

MotionOfTheOcean · 16/08/2012 11:56

Apparently there is a gothic twist in the next episode.Watched it thinking this is weird but will have to watch next week to see wgat happens.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/08/2012 22:17

Watched tonight- that's an hour of my life I won't get back Hmm

Who the Jeff was the man in the attic?

OP posts:
AmberLeaf · 20/08/2012 22:25

Missed the first but am now watching part two which is probably a bit silly.

I'm finding it a bit scary tbh!

Can someone please tell me how the mr celeni and the young girl know each other?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/08/2012 23:05

Do you mean the model? (the dark haired girl?) He's a stalker, he's been collecting her photos, has photos in his flat and he's been parked outside her flat and following her.

The blond haired girl that he killed in Part 1 works in the gym where the model goes to. (Mix (Cellini) repairs gymnastic equipment)

Thank you! Yes I filled in the gaps as I went along.

He was horrible though wasn't he.

KurriKurri · 21/08/2012 15:58

The man in the attic was a bit [confusing] - not sure of the pint of him, Unless we are supposed to think that because he resembled Christie, Mix had seen him and that started his descent in to madness.

Quite odd. Why did Narissa keep standing there like a lemon when he came into her house, she was at the doorway, why didn't she just run for it?

valiumredhead · 21/08/2012 16:35

It was rubbish - the book was really eerie.

AmberLeaf · 21/08/2012 17:31

Agree with your first paragraph Kurri.

Yes I shouted at Narissa a few times.

I think it was so scary last night because I was home alone in a creaky old house.

KurriKurri · 21/08/2012 18:13

I watched it this morning on iplayer Amberleaf - I am a total wuss when it comes to watching scary stuff at night Grin

cocolepew · 21/08/2012 18:17

I was terrified watching it last night, DH had gone to bed and I was too lazy to put the light on

AmberLeaf · 21/08/2012 18:51

Hah! Not just me then!

I can't even read scary threads or even potentially scary threads on here when I'm home alone.

PuppyMonkey · 21/08/2012 19:01

What a shite second part. Completely lost the plot.
