The Animal Hoarder

Did anyone else watch this last night, about the man who released his collection of 56 dangerous exotic animals before committing suicide? It was so heartbreaking to see all those animals shot dead especially the tigers when there are so few left in the wild but I don't think the police did the wrong thing, big cats are reisistant to tranquiliser and by the time it took effect they could easily have killed people. I'm wondering why the police didn't take action before the animals were released though, the owner was clearly mentally unstable and the cages not suitable for such strong animals I don't know why they weren't removed from his care to proper zoos before the incident.

Saw it too-think police tried but they had no legal basis to take action. .. think guy was very unstable, could have caused lots of deaths. .. thought police were v brave

yes I watched it and yes it was heartbreaking the sherrifs office couldnt do anything about the animals until it was too late, there was nothing they could do, I felt so sorry for the police and the sniper guy who looked devastated by what had happened, He didnt do anything illegal apart from his guns which he went to prison for, the guy did seem really unhinged and said he could do it because he could ,

Really devastating to watch, but that that man who was in tears remembering shooting a tiger had a huge stag's head mounted onto the wall behind him.

I agree op. dh and I were saying as much as seeing so many animAls die was horrendous if a lion was coming towards you and you had a gun you would use it to protect yourself.

Felt so sorry for the police, they were stuck in such a horrible position.
