Does anyone love this programme apart from people saying oh they steal etc.

Good and bad in both cultures i think traveller girla have such high morals no sex before marriage dont anyone agree that it should be that way??

I love the sparkly outfits they wear too some are branded tarty i agree but they are lovely and colourful.

I cant wait until dorset steam fair some travellers have baby stuff hand made and its gorgeous the dresses are OUT of this world!???!??

I'm a pineapple, she's a palm tree Grin

Absolutely fab dresses, I love the whole more is more approach to the sparkliness of the dresses.

i think bfgw wedding is a bit racist but i quite like Thelma's Gypsy Girls its more objective. I am quite shocked by the poor education/literacy/basic life skills of the traveler girls though.

i read an autobiog lately called Gypsy Boy (Mikey Walsh) who describes the gypsy culture in an identical fashion to both shows.

watching TGG now reminds me that this is a culture with such strict boundaries in some ways and none whatsoever in others - its v odd

I see that Bridget is gone :( I thought shed tough it out but I am dissapointed that it seems she has all but fallen off the earth for this show.

Ooo i might read that book!

Yeah i loved them oh my the girls are stunning never look out of place!!

I love there hair, make up, clothes.

Its such a shame that they cant read and do things a normal 16 year old would do but its there way of life.

I also agree BFGW is rasict! I dont call them 'gypys' i say travellers.

Id recommend the steam fair to anyone 19year olds in more sparkle and 6inch high heels in mud its CRAZY Shock

Gypsies and travellers are not the same thing!
Gypsy boy was an extremely disturbing book with one of the worst accounts of child abuse I have ever read - just warning you Sad

My first job was in a school. The PE teachers had a pile of yucky used kit they would lend out to kids who didn't bring their own. They referred to it as "gyp" kit. I was stunned. Literally lost for words (once I'd figured out what it was short for!) Needless to say I passed on the message that this was not OK.
Watch both programmes. Not my culture but live and let live!

I dont mind, read a few books like that.

One when his mum made him drink bleach wasnt a traveller though!

Thats sick, i dont think they are dirty.

Some of the men are abit rough i think.. Its bad because half the people dont think its rasict.

No offenece here. You call a pakistani a paki thats rasict. But call them gypsy they think its ok.

Oh my i seen it today that dress. I even got emotional...
