Yes me i was wondering if there was a thread.

i don;t usually watch this sort of thing as it makes me well up

It's a good prog isn't it

Pumpster · 31/07/2012 22:55

Yes, quite poignant for me. I actually considered that school an option for dd!

OddBoots · 31/07/2012 22:59

I'm watching but slightly behind - there don't seem to be any easy answers.

The people who work there all seem so lovely and genuine and caring I wish it was the case that all children with difficulties had people like that around them.

HOORAY to at home with mum!

the 4 generations of women thing was really dismal

Mrsjay · 01/08/2012 17:29

Poor courtney I fear she won't change just calm down slightly as she gets older I don't think the cycle will stop with her which is sad they had a terrible life starting with grandma

SoleSource · 01/08/2012 17:32

I felt her Mother was a confused 15 year old trapped in a 30 year old body.

Mrsjay · 01/08/2012 17:34

I did feel sorry for her mum she seemed as you said Trapped and unsure of what to do or what went wrong,

SoleSource · 01/08/2012 18:09

Mother needs to get some serious therapy so Dd can see positive change and follow suit to break childish destructive patterns of behaviour.

Episode 2 this evening focuses on Josh.

OP posts:
SoleSource · 07/08/2012 22:27

Heroin again to blame. Josh is a very unhappy confused young man.

Urgh what makes me so sad is that so many foster parents and adoptive parents think all they need is love. So sadly many children are effectively emotionall brain damaged as babies and toddlers Sad

SoleSource · 07/08/2012 22:31

Yeah, and 20 different foster homes. WHY?

OP posts:
RandomMess · 07/08/2012 22:38

Because people don't keep spaces open Sad it's a mess.

Honestly I think I an increase in enforced adoption as very young babies with all it's flaws is better than the current system Sad

SoleSource · 08/08/2012 15:38

I have to agree Random. So much head mess for these children, moving aboutvetc. The current system must be changed and I imagine works out to be more expensive in the long run.

I had a friend long term fostering 3 siblings, they only got help once their behaviour really deteriorated, and then only the worst one at any one time - surely it would have been cheaper for them all to have received the CAHMS help they needed from day 1, rather than the placement failing for one of them...
