I don't know if I can watch it next week. I was inconsolable with that elephant following it's mothers tracks the wrong way.

I hated the way the camera men were baying for the hunting dogs to get the young Impala too. I see my own helpless baby in every baby animal. Daft I know but I can't help it.

MT, yes the elephant was incredibly sad television. There's so much I would like my DDs to see in that programme, the polar bears sliding around, the baby penguins etc, but DD1 would be distraught at the elephant and Impala scenes...

I know what you mean. I'd get so upset watching them when I was a child - and still do as a grown up! The polar bear and cubs was fantastic, heart warming. They've structured in in such a way though that you just know the foreboding strings will kick in any minute and Attenborough will start on about the flip side of nature. It was a bit tedious structurally.

I can't understand how some programmes are about saving elephants and others just watch them go to their doom. It's all a bit upsetting and confusing for me, and I'm 35!

because that's animal life - survival of the fittest.

Plus the camera is miles away from the action - they were talking about the prog on Sunday saying how powerful the new equipment is.
