Is anyone else watching this. It seems a lot of employers are very reluctant to employ anyone with mental health problems.
But with the cut in benefits coupled with this attitude from employers how are people meant to be able to afford living costs.
And then you get people including SOME employers moaning about people on benefits. Errr.......well if you wont employ them.......

It's just as well the law now helps to protect those with mental health issues. you can't ask about health/sickness in an interview any more, only after a job offer has been made. If you then withdraw a job offer because of mental health issues, you'll have to explain yourself pretty well to avoid a claim of disability discrimination.

That's my understanding of the current law. However, employers are still prejudiced as your OP so rightly points out.

I'm watching. It's really interesting and moving, that poor guy who's friend committed suicide.

On Question Time last year the boss of Next was moaning about people on sickness benefits. So i would love to know what his policy is on employing physically or mentally disabled people. Prob worded that wrong. If i have ...sorry.
