I'm really shocked at the aggression. It's dreadful and just so unnecessary.

I too was really shocked by the awful aggression, but when you think about it, these girls are raised in homes where the males primary hobbies are beating each other up, and young people get together when a boy physically assualts grabs the girl. The rates of DV in the traveller community are very high.

These girls have little or no education, no freedom to make choices, and are basically domestic slaves from a young age. How on earth could these poor girls adapt to an adult working world?

what I don't inderstand is why thelma and her workers seem shocked at the behaviour! Haven't they been making dresses of travellers for years?

Yeah, if they go to these weddings and go to help the bride dressed why are they shocked

I think Thelma took those 10 days off to have a chemical peel. She looks different.

Also why if one lass is threatening to kill another lass, recruit the bully's cousin? Aye

One thing I've never understood - if these girls are looking after little sibs/cleaning the trailer all day from the age of 11 or 12, what are their mothers doing all day?

that's exactly what I am always thinking - what are the actual mothers doing. There is probably a good reason, but I wish someone would come and share it with us.

the agression is horrible though - as my DD likes to watch this show and I dont think I want her to see it anymore.

Notquiteperfect, I thought the same as you when these girls have to clean,look after siblings etc..etc... what can the mothers be doing???? I also think they are generally quite prejudiced against non-travellers (gawgers)

When I was working in a nursery a few years back we had a few girls from the traveller community and the mother was at the gym every day.

The mothers cleaned for their mothers and looked after their siblings, then they marry young and have their own children so once their children are old enough to clean and look after the younger children the mother can chill out
