and watch whilst we're on holiday please...
We like Wallander, Silent Witness and are currently watching The Bridge, which is great, but the subtitles might require too much effort drunk on an ipad.
We hardly watch any tv, so feel free to suggest the obvious.

Dexter, as long as you dont mind a bit of gore. Its the best thing EVER. Apart from the Sopranos of course.

Ingles2 · 15/07/2012 19:28

no, don't mind gore Coco what's it about?

Breaking bad

ninjanurse · 15/07/2012 19:36

If you want comedy, try The Big Bang Theory, about a bunch of science geeks, but it is comedy gold trust me..

bigbadbarry · 15/07/2012 19:36

The Killing! But it has subtitles. But it is the best thing ever.

Milliways · 15/07/2012 19:39

Cracker?
Prison Break? (First series)

cocolepew · 15/07/2012 19:42

It's set in miami its a police programme usually investigated serial kilings. Its just that there blood expert, Dexter, is a serial killer too. But he only kills baddies so its ok to fancy him.

Series 6 has just finished. Real on the edge of your seat stuff. Can't fault it.

ok, that sounds like our kind of thing coco thanks...
I'm tempted by the Killing as well, but took a quick look on the killing thread, and everyone seemed confused Grin

The shield. American dodgy police drug squad series. Brilliant compelling tv

sooperdooper · 15/07/2012 19:53

Another vote for the Killing, we're about half way though it now and it's brilliant

cocolepew · 15/07/2012 19:54

Purple the blonde good looking one from The Shield is in Prime Suspect USA. He hasnt changed abit and he's pushing 50!

Rescue Me is brilliant but it seems to have disappeared off uk tv.

lizmarshmallow · 16/07/2012 20:26

The Wire, watching it at the moment and it's fab

Fiendishlie · 16/07/2012 20:28

oh, not the vampire diaries! Just no!
Lost is excellent, as is True Blood.

kissyfur · 16/07/2012 20:28

The Shadow Line was brilliant and True Blood is pretty good too

slartybartfast · 16/07/2012 20:28

homeland.

toysoldiers · 16/07/2012 20:29

The Wire is earth shatteringly good but 5 series so you'd only need to take series 1, possibly 2.

The Killing is also phenomenal and 20 hours, so I reckon doable in a 2 week holiday Wink

Aboutlastnight · 16/07/2012 20:29

Breaking Bad.

Every time.

brighthair · 16/07/2012 20:29

Bones
Greys anatomy

monstermissy · 16/07/2012 20:31

Misfits on E4, i had never seen any of it and watched all three series in a week, i loved it. Now watching it all again. My ds has been hooked on 4400 on netflix recently.

Odmedod · 16/07/2012 20:37

Killing is great, but get the danish original version, not the US one!

iklboo · 16/07/2012 20:40

Fringe is good if you like X-Files type stuff
Supernatural
Grimm
Lost Girl

(all spooky/ ghosties & ghoulies & beasties type shows)

Agree with
Breaking Bad
The Shield
The Wire

FrillyMilly · 17/07/2012 04:59

I second Dexter and Homeland. American Horror Story was good.

Jeezaloo · 17/07/2012 05:16

I second Homeland - blooming gripping.

However (with apologies for hijacking the thread) anyone know how/where I can download Homeland? We left UK after episode 9, and by the time we were set up to watch the rest, it wasn't available on 4OD any more.

I'm new at all this downloading lark, so there's probably (hopefully) an obvious answer.
