Is there a back story between him and her? I watched the first series but can't remember anything about it. Are they ex husband and wife?

I didn't see this was on, but having read some of her books, the male and female detective were definitely engaged at one point - don't know if they were ever married (haven't read enough books), but their relationship seemed rather strained.

I've read about 3 I think - and I did enjoy them - I read a lot of detective stories -, although in one of them I seem to remember that the plot got a bit convoluted.

Was the TV show good? - I might look for it on iplayer.

I love the books but don't like the sub plot of the relationships. Keep having to try and remember who is who and I think it detracts from the story.

Tv show is good, good actors in the leads.
It was on tonight at 9pm. Its only a two parter.

Second episode was a bit meh. Became the usual cliched rubbish. Saw who did it a mile off.
