Thank god someone else thinks this! The whole storyline is driving me mad but my DH just rolls his eyes when I start moaning about it. The timeline of past events doesn't add up to me either given the ages of the characters involved.

Neighbours isn't renowned for it's realism! I'm getting more and more pissed off at Dr Kennedy and Rhys apparently seeing every person who ends up in hospital, be it for pg scans, ms reviews, falling off a roof....

I just keep yelling just say no Callam, they can't make you, and Troy being Jade's ex, they thought that one up after his last appearance it was never alluded too at all, bit like sonya being Callam's mum.

I do still love neighbours and their general unbelievable storylines - love the weddings and funerals where close family members don't come, can you imagine the AIBU over some of those weddings?

Dr Karl has always been able to cure everyone of everything! bit like toady handling every aspect of legal work.

I think the lack of realism is why I watch. I like to have a rant about it. Especially the maternity/ICU/A&E/GP/Surgery/Cancer care/psychology (have I missed any?) all based in the same room of the hospital!

The thing that's bugging me is I reckon Jade is about 25 and Sonya 30. Callum is 15 so that would make Jade 10 and Sonya 15 when he was born. Yet jade said she was 17 when she had a relationship with Troy after Sonya ran off, but I thought Sonya disappeared when Callum was born. Am I missing something or are the neighbours write using their artistic license for this storyline?

So your ages are right, although i think Callum had memories of his mum stealing his piggy bank of money so maybe he was nearly 4 before she left for good, but it does also say that Sonya had Callum when she was 16.

I'm a bit confused as well with it . So sonya had a relationship/one night stand ? With troy which resulted in Callum ? Then he and jade had a relationship in which he was abusive ?

I think Sonya and Troy must have had a relationship but presumably she was 16 and he was 22 (jade at this time was 10/11). Then Callum was born and Sonya had a drugs problem so ran away from her family when Callum was 6. According to wiki he was raised by his great grandmother from 6. Jade at that time is 17 and begins a relationship with Troy who is 27. Although I don't get why if Callum went away at 6 he didn't have any recollection of his mum, dad or aunt especially when he was only away from his mum for 6 years when she turned up again.

i think even though sonya was around when callum was younger she was an alcoholic and therefore her gran really did the child rearing.

I thought Sonya's addiction was gambling, not booze. Isn't she Lucas's sponsor for GA?

no sonya was drugs and thats why she was worried she had damaged her body to get pregnant, but yes she is Lucas's sponsor

On the other hand, and more probably, I just wasn't paying close enough attention when we found that out.

Can anyone tell me why Callum ended up with Toady?
I had to stop watching Neighbours for a time when I got a life job, but I have always wondered.

He went to east timor and wanted to adopt a child illegally the. Changed his mind. Then Callum started hanging around (not sure why?) and his gran was ill so toadie looked after him then eventually adopted him.

He was paired up with Toadie as part of a Big Brother Little Brother scheme, came to stay for a while when his grandmother was ill (I think), and Toadie adopted him when his gran died. Iirc, it was Sonya who organised the pairing initially, but then she suddenly was a guide dog trainer instead.

Steph got Toadie and callum together.

Jade is only 26 though. I think they have tried to age Kyle and Kate a bit.

I don't think they have aged Kyle. Wasn't he kept back at school or something so he was older than the rest of the Year 12s he left school with? That would make him at least a year older than Kate, probably nearer two as she seems to be a 'young in her school year' character.

I wondered this too! Just say NO callum!

But then they wouldn't have a story!!
