Bbc4 did anyone see it? Absolutely brilliant and really moving film about whether the heart really is 'just a pump' or if it really is at the emotional centre of ourselves. Really reccomend it x

Me. It was fascinating. The heart colour traces were beautiful. Leonardo da Vinci was a genius.

Actually I thought the science was crap. He showed there are nerves in the heart (like there are everywhere), and that heart rate is affected but not controlled by the brain, and implied this meant the heart had emotional impact The bit at the very end was interesting though, wish they'd spent longer on that.

I got the impression he really meant that emotions are as important as thoughts, and for some reason that meant emotions need there own special organ. Seemed a lot more about philosophy than science.
