I agree. I had stuff to do, could have even got a early night, but watched hoping Sam would wake up and he didn't! Grr.

Now we've have to wait another year! Pah!

I thought it was great. Actually started talking to the telly saying "NOOOOOO don't do it Sam!". Cant remember that last time I really enoyed a good bit of escapism. But Annie really gets on my wick - she's so insipid and whiney.

Googled my own question - Annie played the girlfriend of Paual Nicholls in "A Thing caled love" - recognised her voice - quite distinctive !

I thought it was ok - I knew there was going to be a second series so I thought he wouldn't wake up. It was sad - the way they interweave the music with the storylines is brilliant. When Life on Mars came on during the wedding, I found it quite spine chilling.

They've provided a good lead in for the second series - I hope it doesn't go for longer than that.

The fact that his dad would have shot him (though he didn't know Sam was his son) and it's been left hanging in the air as to whether his dad was Morton or not means there's loads of things for him to look up in 2006/7 aswell.

I was muttering "Don't give him the gun!" too. I was a bit dissapointed, though, even though I knew there was a second series. It's a long time to wait.

Don't think I'll bother with the second series. It got increasingly annoying. All the time we were saying 'as if you'd do that!'.

John Simm played Raskolnikov (sp) in the TV production of Crime and Punishment two or three years ago.

yes a year is a v long time to wait (especially as they are already filming it)

but they've probably got a whole load of crap to fill the space like Daziel and Pascoe and reality rubbish ggrrr

I was hoping that he'd wake up too, but then when a case needed investigating in 1973 he would suddenly find himself back there - time travelling sorta thing!

I'm not normally impressed with the acting on TV but I have to say I have found JS's portrayal of Sam very touching and when he went into the hall to smell his dad's jacket I was close to tears. (not like me at all!)

I was annoyed about the ending this series. Bit of a pain.

When it came to the end and they mentioned that another programme would be on instead next week, I thought, oh no !!! My Monday evening viewing gone down the plug hole.

I was looking forward to watching the next preview clip for the next episode. But there wasn't one. Next year, what a pain. Very disappointed to be left hanging like this.
