I live in Europe and even though I can get the BBC, don't tend to watch much of it in the evenings as all the good stuff is always on too late. Feeling a bit out of the loop with what's been on British TV over the last few years especially since we don't get ITV and Channel 4 and are too cheap to pay for Sky. Have watchied the 2nd series of Downton, the 4th series of True Blood and the first series of Game of Thrones so far this year, so we have quite varied tastes.

Just wondering what to watch next. Any recommendations?

The Big Bang Theory?

Pandygirl · 03/06/2012 13:14

Hustle? First 7 series are in a box set and it's very clever...

Engelsmeisje · 03/06/2012 13:24

I love BBT sparkling ! (they pick up a lot of american comedy shows over here and repeat them again and again ).

Might try Hustle pandy . One of those series that I've never got round to.

Thank you for your sugestions Smile

I love Dexter!!

Sparklingbunting · 03/06/2012 13:36

DH says Dexter is 'superb'. He also says Walking Dead-but I have no clue what that is-Zombies?

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 03/06/2012 13:56

Cutting it Blush

Sparklingbunting · 03/06/2012 13:56

Benidorm

IAmSherlocked · 03/06/2012 16:44

House, Castle, The Mentalist, Bones, Sherlock (if you haven't seen Sherlock, best thing on British TV for years!).

Guilty pleasure: The Vampire Diaries. Blush

Brace yourself for six million people to recommend The Wire - I never got the appeal myself...

Mackadaynu · 03/06/2012 16:54

I didn't get The Wire either, Iam. Apparently I didn't watch enough of it though...it's supposed to get really gripping in season 2 or 3, I think.

I recommend The Killing.

IAmSherlocked · 03/06/2012 17:35

That's what people said to me, Mackadaynu - but I like to be gripped straight away!

Nagoo · 03/06/2012 17:38

You should watch the wire with the subtitles on.

Mad Men.

I am assuming you watched Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes already?

Nagoo · 03/06/2012 17:38

Walking Dead is Zombies and it is VERY good and it has Andrew Lincoln in it :)

Engelsmeisje · 03/06/2012 18:37

Is The Vampire Diaries really any good? I read the first two books and thought they were shockingly awful.

Loved Sherlock (was one of the few things that I didn't mind staying up late to see on BBC). Have seen (most of) House/Mentalist/Castle.

Have seen Life on Mars and series 1 and 2 of Ashes to Ashes...think there was a 3rd though that we haven't seen.

Mack is there mroe than one version of The Killing (is it Danish? and is there an English language version as well?) Which one's better?

Smile to Andrew Lincoln (me likey).

Wire, Mad Men, Bones - will do.

I thin k I may have watching Cutting it when it was originally on, way back when.

Always try to watch with subtitles Nagoo as English is not DHs first language (and Gene Hunt is apparently not the easiest character to understand for a foreigner even WITH English subtitles on!)
