Are Bo Bruce's plaits clipped on attached?

Am watching the voice a bit late. This has been worrying me a lot recently.

they are like her voice.....crap

And odd. When they are pulled round her head they look like they are clipped in but last week when they were dangling I thought they were real hair. Very strange.

I think some of them are hairbands you can get them in Claires/Primark type shops.
