Secret eaters?

Has anyone wasted 2 hours of their lives watching this yet?

It is rubbish because how many programmes can be made about other people's diets?

Also rubbish, because seriously, who understimates how much they eat by the amount that the people in the 2 programmes so far have?

Yet, I have sat and watched both programmes? Why? I have no idea.

I have.

There's nothing else on. I watched it last week and then saw it was on yesterday and thought 'I'm not watching that again' but I couldn't find anything else to watch so I had it on whilst I Mumsnetted.

Thanks for replying Hapless. Think I watched it because there was nothing else on. Although of course, there was plenty else I could have been doing!!

What a lot of drivel!

I watched this weeks and I've never watched it before. It was quite addictive really. I really don't know how you can think you eat 1200 but really eat 4000. Did they really not get why they where so overweight? I also don't think they all stick to the 10 week diet very well. The dad managed to lose nearly 2 stone and the daughter only 7lbs. I had to laugh when she said she went from a size 20 to a 12/14.

I have a little known medical condition which renders me unable to turn the TV off Wink so I watch no end of crap. At the moment we only have Freeview but DH is talking about getting Virgin ? what sort of tripe will I end up watching with hundreds of channels to choose from?

I suspect they all know they overeat but think 'oo I'll get on the telly'. Why you'd want your 15 minutes of fame to consist of you shoving crisps and biscuits into your mouth I don't know!

FrillyMilly · 25/05/2012 21:10

Hapless I think I also have your condition. We have Sky so may I recommend Toddler and Tiaras and anything on Discovery home and Health. Also any programme that involves making amazing cake. I'm on maternity leave at the moment so have been watching far too much crap tv.

Changethatbulb · 25/05/2012 22:10

I hold my hand up. I have watched both episodes and wondered why?

The weight losses aren't great. I wouldn't exactly call having ONE chocolate at a dog training class 'secret eating'.

Bottom line is many of them eat big portions of not fantastic food. And the litres of fizzy pop...shock!!

I enjoyed 'Supersize v Superskinny' more.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2012 23:45

to get fat you over eat and under exercise- thats the basic equation

so obviously these people 'over ate'

did they really think they didnt Hmm

manzi18 · 28/05/2012 16:00

Like the conclusion Blondeshavemorefun x x

cybbo · 28/05/2012 16:18

Blondes I think quite a lot of very overweight people will swear blind they hardly eat anything, or never eat between meals.

People have lost sight of what normal portions are, and hav eforgotten what hunger feels like. If they don't feel full round the clock they think they will faint.

My mum claims she eats hardly anything and can't lose weight yet she is 5 ft 6 and about 18 stone. If I spend a day with her, she ally is eating round the clock and doesn't even notice it anymore.

TheDreadedFoosa · 28/05/2012 16:26

The premise of the programme is decent enough - so many people claim to not know how they are overweight, or that they are restricting their intake but not losing and the fact is they have to be overeating, everyone but them can see it- but in actual fact its a shite programme and very poorly executed.

They had the private investigator rush round to the burger takeaway place to get the ticket with the orde and speak to the person who served...but the cameras were in the house anyway to see them eat the food, they weren't hiding it.

Over-dramatic bunch of wank.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2012 16:59

Blondes is blunt

Also agree portion size and what they actually eat makes a big difference
