I need a cookery / baking type show in my life

So, I need some suggestions - I'm missing my fix of Masterchef or Great British Bake Off or similar.

There must be something on tv to fill this void for me?

I have found Masterchef Australia tonight at 7pm on Really but not sure it is the new one though I have seen the new one advertised.

Really didn't think I'd like Gok Wan, hate his fashion shows and when I read the blurb that his family would be in it, I cringed.

BUT, having watched it by accident, OH had remote control, I hold my hands up and say I loved it. He comes across so nice and down to earth, him and the Dad appear to have a lovely relationship (and if it's put on they both deserve Oscars). And the food was Intresting but do-able.

But we do need British bake off back soon (with added squirrel)

I can't get Cupcake Wars with Tivo - I am well pissed off.

Next Great Baker is good (American).

I love Saturday Kitchen, Sunday Brunch (except for Tim Lovejoy), Man v Food and Triple D.

I just love Barefoot Contessa. DD can't stand her and says all the food is much too unhealthy. So much fat and sugar. I just watch cookery shows. Hardly ever make anything from them.

What about Ace of Cakes?

I love Ace of Cakes! Can't be doing with the Contessa though, too contrived. Cupcake Wars is great. DS, 6, loves it.

I bought a Barefoot Contessa book after watching the shows, I've only had Sky for a couple of months so hadn't seen her before.
The recipes I've tried from it have been lovely.
I'm sure Jeffrey is gay though.

Thank you. I absolutely love Masterchef New Zealand and was addicted to that when it was in recently - so will record.

WHY OH WHY is the UK masterchef so boring in comparison to Aus/NZ?

I like it when she says MMMMMM I know Jeffrey is just going to love this. And is so enthusiastic about him coming home after they've been married for ever. I bet it's all put on though for the cameras!!

Their house is stunning, and she has the kiwi Le Creuset casserole that I want.

I want her mixer. And all her pots and pans and other stuff.

Love triple D! But Barefoot is just too annoying, everything with half a pound of butter in it too. Agree with MarySA, only ever watch shows, never cook anything either!!

Weirdly, the things I've made haven't been all that fattening.
OK, one was a cake so I didn't expect it to be low cal, but it was lemon yoghurt cake, so not too bad.
I've also done asian roast salmon, a tomato dish, and seafood gratin.
There's lots of light dishes in the book.

Actually, I have one of the triple D books too, and have tried a few things.
I love cooking, I watched Sunday Brunch last week and tried a dish from the show that night!
