Can anyone remember what happened at the end of the last series.

I thought Martha was pregnant. Did she lose the baby? Why have 5 years supposed to have passed.

(I'm only 5 minutes in on Sky plus)

Haven't actually got a clue what's going on Confused

It wasn't 5 years it was a month or so, as the whole piece was about handing over her 'junior' work and taking silk - eg when she was dressing with the other women silks, it was clearly her first time.

Did you miss the last episode of the last series? She had a miscarriage.

I can't remember. Confused

It's just I thought Billy said it was 5 years since she'd been in a court room. Must have got confused.

I was a bit disappointed with last night's. It was so obvious what was going to happen to her client. She can't have been that much of an idiot Angry

I thought it was good but yes, all very obvious. What did they think was going to happen to poor Brendan?! Confused Hmm

I actually thought it was supposed to be the next day! Though to be fair I was 100% confused about everything until halfway through the program.

Didn't a criminal sort thump her in the stomach and that is why she lost the baby? I like it but have never really understood it - like what does the chief clerk (or whatever he's called) actually do. ALso v confused by Adam being called Clive but guess he is working undercover or something. And wouldn't someone just tell the boy with the greasey hair to wash - they aren't normally gentle with each other.

Was INSANELY obvious what happened to the man she was defending - wouldn't he have been put in witness protection or similar?

Ladymont. Yes, just like when Adam pretended to be that gas engineer Wink

I think it's the chief clerks job to run the chambers and be nice to solicitors so that they give them work. I think they are the sales people, if you like.

I'm pretty sure all barristers are self-employed and attach themselves to a chambers.

Punters (I think) need a solicitor who then gets them a barrister if they need one.

Maybe hopelessly ill-informed.

Not a bad summary gnomeland Grin

The program is terribly unrealistic I always end up shouting at the TV

Senior clerks book the work and schmooze solicitors, they used at be all powerful but less so these days.

She is incredibly young to have taken silk at criminal bar.

If only I bumped into Adam on a daily basis in the Inns of Court......

Obviously watched too many legal dramas Wink
