I watched it for the first time last night. What an odd boy the son of the owner was.
Glad the inspector managed to sort it out a bit, sad for the Dad that it closed.

I watch it (and Four Rooms - I think you mentioned that on another thread).

The worst bit about last nights Restaurant Inspector was that embarrassing bit with the £750 champagne. WTF? And yes, the son was odd. Too many years in America can do that to you, you know Grin

Grin at champagne. As if Piffy Dad or Jazzy B would go strolling past the Maharajah and spy the Ace bottles in the fridge. What a twerp.

He was so 'entitled' too. Like, "yeah my Dads worked hard for 30/40 years, now it's time for me to inherit" Hmm

ripsishere · 04/05/2012 16:54

I thought that. What a twat.

I watched it on catch up today. I can't get over how these places, with locations and passing trade that people in my town would KILL for, just stagnate into the worst kind of bog-standard restaurant. I mean, it would have made a perfectly good provincial curryhouse, but to be right there in the West End!

I used to work with Fernando! He is almost as smug in real life as this programme makes him out to be! He's also a good laugh though!
That bloke was weird, his poor dad did not look happy with making him manager!

I watched it, for the first time, the other night. Yes, the son was odd; but what I realised towards the end was that, to some extent, he appeared to have been indulged by his parents all of his life, which actually meant that he had no idea how the real world works. I got the impression that his dad had never said "come on, son, you've got to knuckle down and do some hard graft", or if he did then son went running to mummy.

ripsishere · 05/05/2012 09:25

You are right Ola.
Moody - very jealous. Fernando is on my to do list, slightly lower down than Adrian Chiles, but still top 20.

Yeah, the son looked a heck of a lot better by the end.
What was with the "ceased trading but reopened with a different name and same management" thing? Does anyone know the place?

Moodykat · 05/05/2012 22:39

rips- really?! But he's so gay! Or does that not come across on telly? He is actually lovely but very smug!

Blush Oh.
