A question as I'm confused about The Bridge

Ok....took me all of the first episode to realise that the woman who was taken with Stefan to that house was not Sorgen - they looked identical to me !!....

Then I'm now in episode 4 and had though that the prostitute woman who is Stefans sister and is in hospital was that woman he took to the house with the kids and she had perhaps taken a turn for the worse and was now on the streets (wasn't sure what happened to the kids).....

But then someone phoned Stefan in the police station and asked where Veronike and the kids were....so Veronike is perhaps that person in the house and not the prostitute homeless person

and is that person who was phoning him also the boyfriend then of the Veronike and the journalist ?

I am mightily confused as you can see....why are all these women with long blond hair .....

I suspect you might be lost by my post......help !

I thought it was a Stefan Lindberg thing - he's obsessed with women who look like his long lost sister, maybe. Doesn't explain Saga Noren, though, I admit...

ah.....thanks. I hadn't picked up the names.....strange as this is the only programme I can't multi task to....I have to give it 100% attention and I still can't work it out. I think that even though stefan won't be the killer ( will he ?) there's something weird about him....did you see the way he looked over his shoulder as he went to the secret house and was keen to leave kids outside ......
it's good though.

Is he the same Stefan Lindman as in the Henning Mankell (ie. Wallander) books or is the name a coincidence?

I've only seen episode 1 of The Bridge so far but it's really good isn't it?

I thought the woman taken to the house was Sorgen too. DH was Hmm. I think I have face blindness.

"Is he the same Stefan Lindman as in the Henning Mankell (ie. Wallander) books or is the name a coincidence?"

No, this one is Stefan Lindberg, and a completely different actor too.

MrsMcEnroe · 04/05/2012 14:11

I've only seen some of the Wallander series but have read all the books (haven't seen any episodes/films with Stefan Lindberg in them! - thanks LaVolcan). The books are amazing. I cried buckets at the end of the last one!

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack. I've now seen episode 2 of The Bridge. Am dying to know what the scars on Stefan and his sister's arms mean ...

I was like this when I read the Dragon Tattoo books - had to write all those Swedish names down - there were too many and I have my head so full of stuff and can't read for long periods (usual kids, job, life , need to sleep) that it just became very necessary - maybe I should do this when I watch The Bridge.
I sound seriously dim but I'm honestly not IRL !!!

Just marking my place so someone can explain tonight's episode if DH doesn't make it back from work in time.

TheOneWithTheHair · 05/05/2012 11:44

It is a bit confusing. Loving it though. :)

JiltedJohnsJulie · 06/05/2012 10:02

Loved last night's episodes. One thing is on my mind though, if Stefan doesn't speak Danish why was he working in Copenhagen?

MousyMouse · 07/05/2012 17:42

apparently stefan is a liaison officer for the swedish social services.
drugs and booze is much much cheaper in denmark than in sweden, so many people get stranded in copenhagen.

RnB · 08/05/2012 21:36

Am loving this. I do agree that it is really confusing though!

campergirls · 08/05/2012 21:41

I thought I was making some kind of sense of The Bridge until I read this thread! I've completely missed Sorgen, which one is s/he?

AgentProvocateur · 08/05/2012 22:55

campergirls it was me who posted about Sorgen. I thought that was the Swedish detectives's name, but I could be totally wrong. I am very easily confused these days!
