So moving. Anything to do with kids makes me emotional and this series seemed the most moving of the series.

you will cry like a baby next season :)

nkf · 13/04/2012 18:31

Because it's the last? Or for some other reason. No, don't tell me. I will wait and see.

is it good? I have the box set but have to admit I struggled through episode 1

Nagoo · 13/04/2012 19:53

Is it good? Shock

Just watch it. If you need subtitles you need subtitles. There's no shame yo.

S4 makes me feel sad just thinking about it.

Just the horrible inevitability of it all.

MrsMcNulty · 13/04/2012 21:16

nkf I am jealous you haven't seen Series 5 yet, S4 indeed heartbreaking, and you see the kids some more in S5.

In fact watching the box set this 3rd time around we had a long break after S3 before I could bear to watch S4 again as I knew what was coming Sad

TheFoosa · 13/04/2012 21:25

well, my interest was maintained by the lovely Dominic West so maybe I'll stick with it

MrsMcNulty · 13/04/2012 21:39

Yes stick with it Foosa, but McNulty is mine!

And Stringer Bell too, sigh

And Omar is the best character in a TV show ever

Nagoo · 14/04/2012 07:27

I had Omar dreams.

Me and Omar were tight Grin

nkf · 14/04/2012 09:21

Isn't Presbo a good man? And poor poor Bubbles. I developed a liking for the huge policeman who let Bubbles go. I don't fancy any of the charactesr but I believe in them all. They all seem real to me.

am midly jealous as i have seen them all :(, idris elba is all mine, sorry!

NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 09:43

Awesome awesome programme. I lost many an evening to it. Both me and DP were completely sucked in. YY to them all seeming 'real' the characters are so well written and rounded out and the way the stories all twist through the different series, it must have a taken one hell of a team of writers to manage to make it so complex.

nkf · 14/04/2012 10:21

So far, series 2 has been my favourite.
I am wondering whether to start series 5 now or wait till half term.

I've just got into this excellent TV series- so only watched S1 and 2 so far.

I also have a mad crush on Omar. Also liked D'Angelo from S1.

At first I was struggling to understand but now it's a'ight I is cool wi it

It's all in tha game y'all

:o

goingbacktowork · 23/04/2012 21:10

The only downside is that you can only watch the whole series "new" once. It really is a one off programme never to be repeated.

LittleStranger · 24/04/2012 20:44

Watched final S4 episode yesterday and have almost emerged from the gloom by now. Have been watching them as a treat when DSs in bed but was desperate to finish series so watched some of last episode while bfing DS2. He's only tiny so he wouldn't have taken anything in, I hope...

Friend bringing S5 over in couple of weeks, but kind of want to put off The End.

Watched some of the commentary and love how they have actual po-lice playing various characters for added authenticity, which is then ruined by Aiden Gillen's totally unconvincing attempt at an accent.

What a wonderful series The Wire is.

I liked the last series a lot, so you have much to look forward to.

My opinion on which was the best series changes often.

I was gutted about Stringer Bell

StrangerintheNight · 18/06/2012 21:21

Have now started season 5 and its so far been something of a let down (am about 5 episodes in). No spoilers obviously, but the McNulty storyline comes across as just silly and unbelievable, and that other incident with an innocent passer-by being dragged out of his car - with no major repercussions it seems.

Someone please tell me it picks up towards the end? Would be a shame for it to end on a low note, or am I missing the point?
