i would have bought that desk for 5K if i had the money. i didn't find ugly, it was missing drawers and was weatherbattered, i thought it gave it character and made it beautiful i a way. I hate that they will restore it and make it unrecognisable and fake looking (you expect your antiques to have a lived in feeling don't you). Surely the monetary value/ point of interest is that Dracula was written on it.

I love this show. Wonder if the producers pay them a retainer to bring in their items as surely they would normally hope to get a better price at auction - particularly at specialist sales.

Thought the fish people were crazy - turning down 40,000 and then happily accepting 22.5 just because "I love a gamble" - nuts!
