have they released a cd of the music yet? spots nice little earner

lazarusb · 11/04/2012 10:13

I'm fairly certain it's written mainly for adults now. A lot of references that children wouldn't understand - this is not a complaint btw, it's the way it should be! Grin

ErnesttheBavarian · 11/04/2012 11:14

hmmm Ben Willbond

My fav is the four Georges song Born to Rule.

Greenshadow · 11/04/2012 11:33

Yes Lazarusb, the songs after all tend to be based on ones from years ago that the children of today wouldn't recognise - Bowie's Changes on yesterday for example and we've even got the Monkees/Beatles song coming up later in the series.

lazarusb · 11/04/2012 12:27

I love it. Too much. I'm not fooling anyone in this house either Grin

VodkaJelly · 11/04/2012 23:18

I love it and it really is educational, I love the songs, so inspired. The viking song was brilliant, did you see the vikings singing in the forest and a white dog run past?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/04/2012 23:50

The O2 faun is mine BTW (Jim IIRC)

You can all have the League of Gents men too now!

ErnesttheBavarian · 12/04/2012 08:56

Literally! (My dc all singing along and shouting literally all through dinner)

bronze · 13/04/2012 15:26

I have a bit of a thing for Mathew Baynton Blush

lazarusb · 13/04/2012 17:18

You aren't alone on MN bronze (although I get the impression that most of the cast are considered fair game!)

ErnesttheBavarian · 13/04/2012 17:31

I like him, but the chin is sometimes off-putting. He and Ben Willbond actually look v. similar in lots of clips. Just without the chin. I like the cheeky glint in the eye in born to rule vid. hmm. So glad my kids are addicted :)

bronze · 13/04/2012 17:50

I we had a bit of a session today and watched all the new ones on I player Mmm

MrsLetchlady · 13/04/2012 18:26

Absolutely love it.

Today, my 5 year old reeled off the names of Henry VIIIs wives, what happened to them and why. Both my DDs love it and have learnt so much.

But they don't get half of the jokes though. Grin.

I hope they do another Stephen Fry one - I've enjoyed seeing those on you tube.

Angiefernackerpan · 13/04/2012 22:49

Oh lordy, Mathew Baynton makes me weak at the knees. I'm a bit addicted to watching the Dick Turpin song on youtube. The eyeliner! The tricorn hat! The pistols!

Going for a cold shower now. That or DH is going to get an unexpected surprise Grin

MyleeneCrass · 15/04/2012 23:27

Pleased I can have Simon to myself.

redlac · 16/04/2012 13:19

Angie! The Dick Turpin song was on this morning :) It was wonderful watching it in HD compared to the many times I have watched it on YouTube

GiantPuffball · 22/04/2012 07:31

Ohh, them dressing up in cavemen outfits is just too much!

lazarusb · 22/04/2012 15:21

I liked the reference to the Frosties ad the other day.
But where he said that was a bit out of date he should have replied - we're leaving it in for the Mums! Grin

Who will start a campaign for a naked HH calendar?

LiviaAugusta · 23/04/2012 17:27

Love love love HH, have converted DH too even though he was a bit Hmm at first when I started watching a 'childrens' programme. DH however has no idea about my massive little crush on Jim Howick Grin

Gabeesh · 13/05/2012 03:58

I watched the Knight song on YouTube and cracked up when I saw someone had commented purely 'tube up his nose!' re Jom Howick/ Peep Show. DH and I huuuuge fans, I like Ben willbond but am constantly amazed at how Ben, Mat and Larry can completely changed themselves depending on song or sketch. Love Patchacuti, kings and queens song (oi!), knight song, Blackbeard (oh!), hyroglyphics (poor Tutanneffikhartoum), 'divorced beheaded and died', the Thinkers and Natural Selection. These songs Literally helped me survive the last few weeks of my pregnancy when I was very ill and very depressed.
