I agree! Can't stand either of them - whoever plays Tracey is a bloody bad actress

theliverpoolone · 29/03/2012 22:40

And Gail too, please Grin

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 22:42

I love 'em all !

EdithWeston · 29/03/2012 22:43

Deirdre makes good Corrie.

Ken and Steve together could be interesting.

And is it just me that, after tonight's episode, wonders if Marcus is going to run off with Maria because he wants to be a father to Liam?

BrightnessFalls · 29/03/2012 22:44

He has just had a new baby in real life. Him and his partner parent with a female friend. Why cant he do that with Maria and Sean? Smile

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/03/2012 09:59

No to Deirdre, yes to Tracey. Ken and Deirdre are pivotal characters I think.

Haven't seen last night's yet, but I really don't think the Marcus / Sean relationship has any chemistry or any sign of real commitment. How old would you say Marcus is meant to be? Surely too old and grownup to be lodging with his boyfriend's mother, her son, her married boyfriend and wife on a long term basis. It's not as if they don't have jobs, you would have thought the pair of them could get a flat together if the relationship was going anywhere. I don't think they add anything to the programme to be honest.

SophieLeGiraffe · 30/03/2012 10:03

Is it just me or does anyone else get mad when soaps are so totally unrealistic? This week's Audrey/lothario/David/Gail storyline has me shouting at the TV as she's so totally unreasonable. She signed the salon over to him! Her bf is a known con man of course they're going to try to protect her!

Grrrrr.

And yes, on topic, see also Deirdre/Tracy - both mentalists and driving me insane.

EdithWeston · 30/03/2012 10:10

Marcus will be 34 in May, Sean is 35.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 30/03/2012 10:14

Edith, watch this space apparently... :)

I love Ken and Steve together :o

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/03/2012 10:22

Sean 35? I wouldn't have guessed that, would have said 30 tops, immature at that.

I agree, normally in any disagreement between Gail and Audrey I would take Audrey's side, not this time!

Ken and Steve make a great pairing, two very long running characters who have never been obvious allies suddenly get a whole new lease of life, there are still some very good aspects to Corrie.

qazxc · 30/03/2012 10:25

deirdre and tracey remind me of the old men in the muppets.

valiumredhead · 30/03/2012 10:27

Last night when they were having their 'tea' out of containers - comedy genius! "We're so continental we are, aren't we?!" Grin

BrightnessFalls · 30/03/2012 10:35

Is Marcus a midwife on any level? I never see him go to work. He would be on about £35 grand if he was working shifts full time. More than enough money to buy a flat in Salford.

EdithWeston · 30/03/2012 10:38

I speculation, GML (but not spoilers!)

The scenario of gay man fathering baby with friend who has no suitable man in her life has already been done, and it would be excessively repetitive to have it again (especially as the plotting/writing of late has been below the previous standard, so the whole thing would look like a pale imitation).

Sean isn't ready to adopt (refused to embark on assessment process), and I can't see Maria consenting to be a surrogate.

So the options seem to be that Marcus leaves Sean for Maria, agreeing to settle for a best friends plus fatherhood arrangement. Or this is paving the way for Liam to be "inherited" by Marcus during some absence by Maria.

Talking of gay men in Weatherfield, btw, where is Mr Gay Weatherfield himself? Presuambly he's still living in the flat, as his mother's is so crowded. But we haven't seen his face at all recently and I've lost track of what he's meant to be doing. (Ditto Owen, Anna and Katie).

SydSaid · 31/03/2012 11:53

"How old would you say Marcus is meant to be? Surely too old and grownup to be lodging with his boyfriend's mother, her son, her married boyfriend and wife on a long term basis"

Sean isn't Eileen's son, he's her lodger.

Columbia999 · 31/03/2012 11:57

How does Eileen fit all those people into her little terraced house? It must have elastic walls like Jim Robinson's in Neighbours; he always had about 150 people living there!
Shame Anne didn't have a spare whiskey bottle to lamp Tracey-luv with, to do us all a favour.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 31/03/2012 12:26

Yes, that was wrong, they all do seem like one big family in Eileen's house though. Is Jason still there or is he in the flat with Tina? I have lost track a bit.

I do maintain that it is unlikely that Marcus would live with his boyfriend, his landlady, landlady's son etc etc when he should be able to afford a place of his own. People seem to move in and out without any reference to where they were living before.

SydSaid · 31/03/2012 12:43

I'm not sure where Jason is, but Sean and Marcus are at Maria's at the moment. I think.

Jbck · 31/03/2012 14:11

Jason's in the flat with Tina & Tommy. I seem to recall it being two bedrooms though so not sure where they are all shacked up.

MurielTheActor · 31/03/2012 15:09

Ken and Steve Grin The Odd Couple - but hey it works Grin

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 31/03/2012 15:28

Re the tardis like houses, I always wonderd how Kne & Deirdre's use to houe them, Tracey, Deidre's mum, Peter, Leanne.
By the way, where is Leanne living now?
Ditto the pub

GhastlyBespoke · 31/03/2012 15:41

Watching Deirdre and Tracey last night felt like I was watching Denise and Barbara Royle. Tracey is a terrible actress. Dreadful.

EdithWeston · 31/03/2012 15:56

Peter has a place of his own. Leanne's living in The Rovers, I think.

LeeCoakley · 31/03/2012 16:03

I used to like the Sean character but after watching Antony Cotton behave like a big baby on I'm a Celebrity I don't like him any more. Hopefully he will move away and Marcus will find someone nicer.

Trust Deirdre and Ken to get back together so quickly, I liked watching Steve put up with Ken, they could've had a good Odd Couple comedy act going for a while there.

Please Lewis, show your true colours soon and leave the show. I ca't stand you.
