So sally is ventilated but in a room on own - so no one watching her all the time, surely she should be in icu or hdu?!

And the dr came in to take her pulse - if she on ventilator doesn;t she have monitors?

Bethany will be back with attitude and problems.

Corrie is boring but I am addicted!

I quite liked Amber flouncing off. The actor who plays her is very convincing as a right little madam.

EdithWeston · 25/03/2012 17:44

I never really saw the point of Amber as a character.

Dev used to be a so much better character (eg in the days of Mad Maya) and I've alway thought the actor was therefore capable of more than the crap he's been given of late.

LineRunner · 25/03/2012 19:07

I agree that the actor who plays Dev currently appears to be having problems with giving a fluent performance.

Listmaker · 26/03/2012 10:12

Dev (or the actor who plays him) has been awful for years - can't act to save his life and is just ridiculous most of the time!

Still love Corrie though!

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 11:04

I think he looks particularly crap because he's been given such awful lines and scenarios. He was fine (and acted well) during the Maya storylines, and I've always thought he is capable of more. If all they give him is roaring cardboard, what else can the poor chap do?

Listmaker · 26/03/2012 11:06

I just can't stand his pained expression when he's trying to act all sad and emotional......

But it is true that he hasn't been given a decent storyline for years!

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 11:24

I think he could win gurning championships! And every line seems to be a whine - don't the writers think he can just converse?!?

ExitPursuedByABear · 26/03/2012 12:12

Yes - I loathe Dev's whining wheedling voice.

But I am addicted to Corrie.

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 12:16

I'm still an addict, but haven't enjoyed it so much for a few months now and in the last couple of weeks there have been episodes where I have actively disliked or been uninterested in every single storyline shown.

I'm worried this is the beginning if the end IYSWIM.

Listmaker · 26/03/2012 14:14

Stick with it Edith - it always goes in phases like this and then it gets good again. We need more Mad Mary and evil Tracy!

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 14:15

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Not Tracy! No, please, no!

Listmaker · 26/03/2012 14:16

Yeah but she's a good one to hate!

Bring back Becky then instead - loved her!

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 14:23

Yes, I'd like to see Becky back.

But I don't "love to hate" Tracy, I just want her gone. Her character/storylines require too much suspension of disbelief. I don't just mean what is necessary for fiction, but huge inaccuracies;

a) that she is out of prison at all. She admitted the killing and attempted a DV defence. As the forensic evidence was not in question, and she admitted she struck the blow, the "discredited expert" is not relevant for an appeal.

b) that her stillborn twins were described as a miscarriage, and the medical issues around this (both generally, and specifically for someone living with a transplant) were operated wrongly.

c) that the legal advice concerning who can apply for an annulment was wrong.

Corrie at its best shows a dramatised version of life. It should not lurch along on major inaccuracies.
