Where's baby Jack? (Corrie)

Watching Corrie last night and idly wondered where baby Jack has gone? We never see him and no one ever mentions him. Where is Kevin living, who looks after Jack when Kev is working? It's very mysterious. Is it going to be resolved by Kev moving back in with Sally and making her bring up his dead mistress's child?

LOL
sadly enough i was thinking the same, asked my partner who then told me to shut it Shock

alot of soap characters forget they have babies or have 24/7 babysitters!
if only it was that simple

i suppose if sally did decide to take on baby jack she wouldnt have to do anything anyway! lol

Clearly if you want to set yourself in a childminding business Weatherfield is the place to be Grin

EdithWeston · 23/03/2012 12:43

We haven't seen Hope, Joseph, Liam or Amy either.

I wish they would sack th current team and get back one made up of peopl who could cope with concurrent storylines.

Is Ozzy still alive? And when did we last see Eccles?

theliverpoolone · 23/03/2012 12:44

Jack must be in the mystery place Maria's child hangs out. I genuinely forgot for a while that Maria had a child, she seems to be with Carla, in the pub etc all the time with no mention of him.

theliverpoolone · 23/03/2012 12:47

Ozzy and Eccles are going the same way as Tyrones greyhound Monica years ago - disappearing off the face of the earth!

EdithWeston · 23/03/2012 12:53

But the person who isn't disappearing is Betty. No word on where she's meant to be. And as it is so long since the funeral and tribute programmes for the RL Betty, I do wonder what they're up to. I've no faith they'll be able to rise to the occasion for a proper send off, though. The writing for some of the older characters (notably Rita; plus the general absence of a true developing relationship between her and Denis, instead just sudden rush) has been dire and I cannot understand why they are not insisting on better - both in pace and style.

Allice · 23/03/2012 15:13

I end up shouting that at the tv all the time! Someone ought to call social services, where are the kids!

With regard to Betty, they are going to do a tribute episode to her, I heard one of the producers on the radio a week or two ago. The man who played her son, Bill Kenwright I think, comes back and tell's everyone that she died.
Can't remember when it airs, think it's April sometime.

Clawdy · 23/03/2012 17:38

Anyone think Jack will go back to Tyrone after it is revealed he is the true daddy?? DNA test flawed because Kevin's dad licked the crucial dummy...heard that rumour months ago.

EdithWeston · 23/03/2012 17:43

I am dreading the Betty funeral now. So much is being wrecked.

Any chance of them bringing back the previous writers and wider creative team. If not for good, at least for this?

ABigGirlDoneItAndRanAway · 25/03/2012 21:43

Ooh Clawdy that's interesting about the flawed DNA, can you picture the catsbumface on Tyrone's psychopath current girlfriend when she realises she will have to bring up Jack as well as the one she is pregnant with?

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 06:41

I hope that's speculation, not a spoiler.

We haven't seen nothing of Tyrone recently - another vanished character/storyline. OK the it s an irritating one, but even they shouldn't be turned on and off like this.

Clawdy · 26/03/2012 10:30

Rumour, Edith. Told to me by the girl doing pedicure a year last Christmas! Perhaps would have happened by now if true......

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 11:01

I hope it is indeed just rumour! Simply because it is just too far-fetched.

I really dislike the whole storyline about Tyrone's new girlfriend (because I wanted him to have a nice, uncomplicated partner, possibly even getting back with Maria), but having done this, I wish they'd do it properly and let us see the relationship develop as a gradual unfolding (good times as well as bad); not the irritating "now you see them, now you don't" as they vanish for weeks on end.

Clawdy · 26/03/2012 16:03

But have the Corrie writers ever worried about storylines being too far-fetched...Hmm

YNK · 26/03/2012 16:11

Sadly Jack has gone to wherever all soapkids go while soap adults get on with there lives. Perhaps they stick them in a cupboard until they get home from work/the pub!
I wondered where Dev and Sunitas 2 were the other night now Amber has gone and they were both in the pub. Poor Amber couldn't go to a party because they couldn't get another babysitter but they managed fine the next night when they were both in the rovers!

EdithWeston · 26/03/2012 16:48

Well, clawdy, yes I think they did. There was the odd slip, but they had long running characters with good back stories that were used to develop next stages. And much of what they dealt with was slices of recognisably reall life, even if slightly more highly coloured and at a faster rate than typical. And fallow characters didn't disappear - they had minor storylines, acted as Greek chorus to the bigger ones, or were just seen ticking over as a background of ordinariness which kept the foundations secure.

There has definitely been a move away from that. And I miss it.

carabos · 27/03/2012 08:46

Well, someone must be paying attention to MN because both Liam and Amy put in an appearance last night and Betty was mentioned. Bit woo or what?
