Glad it's not just me who was surprised by that. Is it me or did he sound more welsh than usual this time around? NB not that sounding welsh is a bad thing, I've just never noticed him sounding at all welsh before.

It was the worst episode i have ever seen. I really didnt enjoy it which is a shame as i am a HUGE fan!!

I so wish they would stick to 1 murder an episode. It is referred to as Midsomer Masacre in our house because of the usual body count.

Can't quite get my head around the new Barnaby either - he's just not quite right somehow.

Gigondas · 26/03/2012 15:04

He looks like David cameron.

I assume the new Gf is to involve new plot lines incl her and pathologist fighting over jones.

Why anyone lives round there with it's murder rate beats me.

KurriKurri · 26/03/2012 20:16

Every so often they like to pretend that the murders have taken place in Binwell or Causton or Midsomer Parva - so it doesn't look as if Midsomer is actually the murder capital of the western world. But we all know it is Grin

I agree about Barnaby - why did they have to get in a relative of the old Barnaby - it makes no sense, it's not as if the programme is called 'Barnaby Investigates' surely Barnaby could have been replaced by any old inspector.

And how many huge country houses are there in the region? more than in the rest of Britain combined I'd say. Add to that the fact that all these mansions have had a murder take place in them, and what you've got is a brilliant subversive commentary on the villainy of the upper classes.

Hello Gig Grin

LottieJenkins · 26/03/2012 20:54

They kept the same name because in Europe it is called "Inspector Barnaby"
I read it somewhere, and on the dvds that we have you have the choice of English or European!!

Ah Lottie that's interesting - how funny Grin - it does explain it though. I hope there are lots of other members of the Barnaby family in the force to take over when this actor gets offered another job Grin

I have to say although I poke gentle fun, I am a big fan of MM, and all programmes of a detective nature Smile

LottieJenkins · 26/03/2012 21:08

Wilf is obsessed with MM and has nearly all the episodes on dvd or video. He likes to watch them all alone then with me and tell me two minutes in who the killer is! Hmm Thanks Wilf! Grin
