Eastenders - why I find the Roxy-Max flirtation story so repulsive

I can watch soaps without a great deal of connection - it just floats on past. Some stories are good, some not so good. But the storyline of Max flirting with another woman as his wife has cancer, makes my stomach churn. I have lymphoma and my other half dumped me last July. So I know that some men (and women) can't cope with their partners being ill. But it seems so repulsive that a man can't be patient for sex with a sick woman, that he can't be decent enough to love his wife and be supportive.

I think I am probably being a bit sensitive but does anyone else find it a repulsive storyline?

well, it's not exactly surprising to see Max being so vile, but I do find it unlikely that Roxy, out of the blue, suddenly fancies him and completely overlooks the fact that his wife is ill.
I sometimes wonder how much longer I can out up with these random out of character unlikely plotlines

sorry that you are not well- and about your ex-p.
