I just want to commend this documentary to you. Historian Helen Castor brings the characters to life. Just the thing to help celebrate Women's Day.

I watched it on iplayer this afternoon. I really enjoyed it. Eleanor of Aquitaine was a fascinating character wasn't she?

I saw it yesterday. Thought it was fascinating. I didn't know about either of those women, except, coincidentally, Matilda from a thread here yesterday. Looking forward to the next one.

I finished watching it this evening and thought it was excellent.

when and where is it on? - I saw it advertised and wanted to see it. Looks like I've managed to miss it Sad

tribpot · 08/03/2012 23:20

Oh great - I have the sample chapter on my Kindle and saw it was going to be a TV documentary too. Fire up the iPlayer!

jellycat · 09/03/2012 10:25

KurriKurri, it was on BBC4 at 9pm Wednesday. There is another one same time next week. I expect this week's is still on iPlayer.

KurriKurri · 09/03/2012 18:08

Oh good - I can catch up before next week - thanks jellycat Smile

I've watched the first part and thought it was great. I would have liked a programme per queen, though - it was just getting good about Matilda and then it was like: oh, so then she died. But before she did Eleanor of Aquitaine married her son. Next! Will definitely be buying the book on the strength of this and the sample chapter on Amazon.
