I've just discovered this series and have a girl crush on Angie Harmon. Not keen on Tess Gerritson's books as they are a little gory for me, but I love the characters and the humour in the tv series.

Yes Yes Yes!!

I absolutely love it!

Loved the books and didn't think the series would live up to it, but it does!

CaurnieBred · 05/03/2012 13:32

Me! Not read the books but really enjoying the series. Loving seeing Maura as I remember her from her days as Kate in NCIS.

tribpot · 06/03/2012 21:34

Love it - Angie Harmon is divine. I also prefer to the books as they are fantastically gory, I haven't been able to get back into reading that kinda stuff since ds was born (nearly 7 years ago!). The whole wake-in-costume thing last week was truly random, if hilarious, though.

Dillydollydaydream · 06/03/2012 23:25

Ooh where?! I've been looking for it as I've got the books!

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 06/03/2012 23:40

Does anyone download it and has therefore seen the season 2 finale?!

tribpot · 07/03/2012 06:21

Dilly - it's on Alibi on a Thursday.

MilkNo - I am downloading it from iTunes so only at the speed of Alibi, we're on episode 6.

JKSLtd · 07/03/2012 19:55

Me too :)

Missed last week though as the sky box died, have a new box now so hopefully I can get back into it.

CailinDana · 07/03/2012 21:19

Ooh I love this show, I've seen both series. I am so in love with Angie Harmon, she's almost not real she's so gorgeous. I like the way the Jane and Maura actually have a genuine friendship and that they have families and lives outside of their work. It's funny too :)

Dillydollydaydream · 08/03/2012 07:35

Thanks tribpot :)

tribpot · 08/03/2012 07:47

Dilly - we're on S2, looks as if S1 hasn't been released in Region 2 format yet (although is available on iTunes) - the R1 DVD is available through Amazon for example.

JKSLtd · 08/03/2012 11:29

Had a look on iTunes for the first series as missed all of that. £2.49 each episode? Seems a bit steep, are they usually that price? Never bought tv stuff off there before.

Dillydollydaydream · 08/03/2012 15:48

£2.49 an episode does seem a lot. Can't believe I've missed a whole season, where have I been?!

ifherbumwereabungalow · 08/03/2012 18:41

I thought I was the only one with a massive crush on Rizzoli! Although it was dampened slightly when I found out that Angie Harmon is a massive supporter of the Republican party and backs Sarah Palin. Oh well, thats what I get for the crush leading me to Wikipedia... Blush

tribpot · 08/03/2012 19:14

£2.49 is the price for HD, the standard eps are £1.89. Surprisingly, iTunes makes it a little hard to find this out! Whole series is usually cheaper than the cost per ep as well, will post more from my laptop later.

only4tonight · 08/03/2012 19:44

I love the books but can't hack the series. The character's just so aren't how I imagined them to be.

I fear th hunger games film will be similar

tribpot · 08/03/2012 22:17

Non-HD series 1.

Smellslikecatspee · 10/03/2012 19:54

Anybody who read the books think the actresses are the wrong way around?

CailinDana · 10/03/2012 20:06

I did exactly the same thing bungalow! From what I've read about her she comes across as a proper idiot. I still think she is just amazingly gorgeous though.

only4tonight · 10/03/2012 21:15

Isn't maura supposed to ne the queen of the dead? She doesn't look or act much like it in the series.

tribpot · 11/03/2012 06:53

I think it's a bit like Bones, the characters from the book have only been treated as a jumping off point for the TV series, it isn't a serialisation of the books at all. I agree, TV Rizzoli is absolutely nothing like book Rizzoli, and TV Maura is a lot warmer than book Maura.

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 11/03/2012 11:25

They also have a different relationship then in the books, much closer on tv

I actually re read the books after watching some of the shows and enjoyed them even more as I could put a face/voice to the characters iygwim
