I watched it, thought it was an interesting insight into a marriage.

Poor woman, seemed lonely.

Thought she was a clingy nightmare - trying to stop her husband from sightseeing and constantly criticising him.

Her tantrum at the towel folding demo was ridiculous Shock

I missed the beginning - assume it was an exclusively jewish cruise - were they the only orthodox couple on board?

BrightnessFalls · 01/03/2012 22:14

On reflection, you are right. She wouldnt socialise with anyone. A cruise is not the way forward if you dont want to socialise, especially that one that was packed. No, there were quite afew orthodox by the looks of it.

I enjoyed it though.

I am sure she probably would have not chosen to go on a cruise. The tv company probably paid for it and told them what seminars to go to, eg would they have really chosen to go to the marriage guidance sessions? And do you think he was encouraged by the producer to buy the vase and get her breakfast.

But I think it was thought provoking and done well.

My DH kept asking me if was a comedy.

I think it is a bit harsh to criticise her for being unsociable when you consider how islolated from outside society and even other less orthodox jews she has been. She is not supposed to have any physical contact with men other than her husband adn it would seem not so much with him either so to see all those people acting like people do on holiday must have been a shock for her.

I dont think shes been locked up all her life!! Smile She might be really social in her own community. I dont think not been able to have any physical contact with other men had anything to do with it. The men cant even shake hands with women and it didnt stop her husband socialising. A cruise is not the right kind of holiday though. I couldnt do it myself for more than a couple of days.

What channel, please? So I can find it on demand, if exists.

IslaValargeone · 06/03/2012 13:16

I tried, but gave up as she just drove me mad, she didn't speak, she shouted, and I thought she was rude.

FetchezLaVache · 06/03/2012 13:16

BBC2 I think.
